Well done Frank, a tough walk in tough conditions with a long drive at either end. Brilliant film.

Cheers Graeme, it certainly was a tough day. Conditions were rotten on the summit plateau but nice in way up and down, that drive back home in the dark, that was something else… Thanks again for watching & commenting.👍 ATB Frank.

Atmospheric Frank! Great views on the way up and on the way back! Pity about the top! It’s a big effort to do an 8 hour drive to walk 7 hours in those conditions! It did look cold at the top and in stark comparison to when Abi and I were up there earlier in the year. That wee river is where we stopped for a wee break on the way up. And to think of going all the way back to do the other Munro 🥴🥴🥴. Hopefully catch you for that one! Brilliant again mate! Paul

Cheers Paul, luckily I got some great views on way up & down, but it was bloody miserable up on the plateau. Yeh I checked out your vid again b4 I went and you had tropical conditions compared to me.🌴🍹🏝🤣🤣 That wee bit where you cross the river is a fantastic wee spot for lunch.👍 Yeh need to get back up there at some point to get the other one done.🏔👍 Cheers again mate., ATB Frank.👍🏔🥾

Excellent video Frank😁👌🏻..The mountains up there are so beautiful 😁..That summit looked wild mate😂..Watching your river crossing I was thinking how important walking can poles can be as a part of the kit..Those rivers would be a nightmare to cross with out them..Too video Frank. Cheers Roberto

Cheers Robert, yeh I’ve loved every climb up in Glen Shiel, the mountains and ridges up there are spot on.👍 your right, the poles are a god send when your crossing rivers like that. Thanks again for watching Robert. ATB Frank.

Frank, Well done get round this route in the challenging conditions. Its a long haul for a single but you're now getting to tops where you spend more time driving than walking. Great effort.. Cheers, Charlie

So true Charlie, that’ll defo be the theme from now on. It’s just careful planning now in these winter months, I suspect I’ll be doing more local hills thru the winter. It’s not so much the driving it’s the time doing the hills in daylight hrs. I really enjoyed the hike up Fhada, lovely steady path. Cheers again Charlie, ATB Frank.👍

That was brilliant Frank - great filming and outstanding scenery, Scotlands fooking amazing in all seasons. I am feart to watch too many YT Munro vids in case I get the bug big time - always been hill daft but after watching Tam and Paul et al...I am getting sucked into summits! 😲😲👍

Cheers Davie, yeh Scotland can be amazing in all seasons as long as the clag isnae too low.🤣🤣 Yeh after a good few outings when conditions are right you can defo get the bug. To me it’s something to look forward to every week to escape the rat race.😜👍 Thanks again for watching ATB Frank👍

That looked a push Frank. Fair play driving 8 hours for one munro. The day hikes must be getting longer to reach. I have definitely concentrated around the central belt for the most part and know I have some long days ahead to reach the further away hills. I got the beefier version of your Scarpas , the scarpa mescalito trk gtx. Really great grip. Took a bit of breaking in and a change of insoles but super comfortable now. They just give me that added bit of confidence on the slippy stuff that I never felt with my Salomons. As always a great watch with stunning scenery 👍
@hikingwithfrank3152 жыл бұрын
Cheers Euan, glad your boots feel good and comfy now. Great choice👍 Yeh that’s about my limit for a days hike till the lighter nights come back. It’s the driving in the dark that’s the killer, about 6hrs of the 8hrs driving was in the dark, very tiring. Think I’ll be doing most of my hiking around the central belt as well unless the weather looks suitable for a weekend away. Thanks for watching again Euan. ATB Frank.

Hi and thanks for watching my video, sorry for late reply I was away hiking at weekend. Your right it is a long drive for a hike but sometimes it’s well worth it. The area up there is simply stunning. Thanks again for watching and the sub.👍 ATB Frank

Nice one Frank. Looked a nice atmospheric walk in. Shame up top was wet and wild. A long way to go but one more ticked off on your quest for 282! 👍

Cheers Andrew, yeh a long way to go for a single munro, that’s about as far as I would drive for a day trip. It was actually a lovely walk until I hit the plateau where it became cold wet & miserable. Yip another one ticked off, slowly getting there. Thanks for watching Andrew, ATB Frank.

Brilliant frank if we wait for good weather for every walk we wouldn’t get out on the hills as much
@hikingwithfrank3152 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, your right and I don’t mind travelling & going up the hills S long as there’s a chance of seeing something part of the way up and down. Getting a summit view is always a bonus.👍 Keeps your hill fitness up as well getting out regular. Thanks again ATB Frank.

Thanks Tam, great walk and views till I got to summit plateau. It’s a pity as the views would have been outstanding. They poles are a life saver going across rivers. Brilliant wee spot for a tuna & sweetcorn sandwich 🤣🤣 Cheers again Tam ATB Frank👍

Cheers Brian, your right the autumnal colours were beautiful on way up and doon, yeh I had a good idea I wouldn’t get any summit views. Yeh was pleased to get a free run as it was a long enough drive without being held up🤣🤣 Cheers again Brian, ATB Frank.👍

Nice hike, been aiming to do that hill for a while now , Probabaly the best vid I've seen of it 👍 I was aiming to do the both hills in one walk as two out and backs T-bone style , like to see your vid when you do the other one .
@hikingwithfrank3152 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching, it’s a cracking walk up and that was my original plan to do both on same walk. At this time of year I just didn’t have enough daylight hrs. Hopefully get to tackle the other one soon. ATB Frank.👍

Great walk in for this one Frank,just a pity the tops were in bad weather for u. One I did in a day trip as well.Had snow from the ziz zags up so just retraced my steps like urself to be safe. Heads up when u go back for A Ghlas-bheinn.If u follow the walkhighlands route and visit the Glomach Falls ,it was more of a slog than i anticipated.🥵🥵🤣
@hikingwithfrank3152 жыл бұрын
Cheers Andy, it’s a long day trip eh, 3 of the 4hrs in the dark as well. I really liked the walk up and doon, just the summit plateau was miserable. I would have liked to have done the loop, but when your there alone it’s sometimes not worth it just in case. Noted for A Ghlas-Bheinn.👍 Cheers mate, Frank.

Another sterling effort to bag another munro Frank. I'm guessing a lot of them are gonna be like that now and with the nights drawing in and the weather changing its going to make it harder to do some of them this time of the year? Cheers Andy
@hikingwithfrank3152 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, yeh it’s getting harder and harder this time of year now, that’s about my limit for a day trip. It’s the amount of daylight you have to get up and down the mountain safely. It was still a fab hike until no views at summit🤣👍 Cheers mate, ATB Frank👍🏔🥾

Cannae see JS 💩 😂 😂 😂 New boots new soles will make a big difference respect for summiting solo lots of risks when going solo 1 slip and your in big trouble especially near a summit when not many people are around can relate to a change of base layer it’s so uncomfortable always now carry a fresh base layer like you not so easy to find the right spot to change and it’s awkward as hell in those temperatures stripping off then you have the long drive home but how good does it feel once you are home showered and cosy having your tea and watching tv 📺 Great vlog mate always say it how it is 👌
@hikingwithfrank3152 жыл бұрын
Cheers David, yeh I’ve got new boots now and they seem to be fine, I always try and be a bit more careful when I’m on my own up in the hills.I always carry a spare base layer now as I’m always sweating by the time I get to the summit. Like you say it can be awkward changing when it’s blowing a hoolie and freezing.🤣🤣it is a long drive back but it is good to jump into a bath with a couple peronis🍺🍺. Thanks again David for watching and commenting.👍 ATB Frank.👍🏔🥾
