I really admire the creativity that you put into these frugal projects, but I can't help but notice that as of late the vast majority of your crafts are exceedingly colorful and are really only applicable to certain decor types. Could you show us some DIY projects that are a little more versatile and muted in color spectrum so that they might fit into a wider array of decorative styles? I was flipping through the Big Ass Book of Crafts the other day and loved how most of the projects can be tweaked to just about any style, but I'd really like to see some more variety among what you show us on the channel. Pretty please?

Hey Trevor, I totally get where you're coming from and though I agree with you.......unfortunately the internet responds to color......Bright, intense, vibrant color. Muted tones just don't get noticed in the video/blog medium which is why I use tons of color in my work. Rest assured, everything I make can be painted in a muted tone and it would look just as lovely. If you want to talk about color options for a specific project, just write to me and we'll figure something out. Hi Mark, thanks for taking the time to reply to my earlier comment. I understand completely, no worries! With that in mind, I'm thinking about doing this mirror over the weekend, but in a more muted metallic silver finish and with black jewels instead. I intend to give the entire thing a coat of black paint, and then apply silver afterwards. Do you think it would look better if I dry brushed silver paint over the black, or if I used metallic rub n'buff and just went along with my fingers? Dry brushing is less messy (and cheaper), but I feel like there isn't enough variation in texture on the raised parts to really catch the paint more than the recessed areas. Which approach do you think would yield better results?
