If products are sold at higher prices without following rules, action can be taken against shopkeepers. It includes a penalty of one year in jail or a fine up to Rs. 1 lakh

Those prices does not include taxes. Taxes are charged during billing. Also generally big retailers don't do such stupid double taxation malpractices.

The undiscounted price is the MRP (which includes all taxes), the discounted price is not MRP, so the rule would only be that the price (inclusive of taxes, should be lesser than the MRP Now, under GST, MRP is not relevant (yes, under metrology act it is relevant), as taxes are not paid related to the MRP, but on the transaction price, the price you pay

Can u make one video on restaurants menu also,actually what they used to do is they show whatever is the price of platter there on menu card and after when final bill arrives they used to charge taxes over that,and as u said in the video mrp itself contains all the taxes so if they are changing extra money over the mrp price in name of tax than isn't it unfair practice.

In 2014 I also got trapped in Woodland showroom discount scam. They offer 40% discount on shoes, usually the shoe without any discounted offer was their final price but the shoe with offer they charged VAT into it. When we complaint to manger they told us that in Woodland showroom VAT already included in MRP but as you purchased discounted shoe so you had to pay for VAT. Were they really scammed me or that was just loopholes.
