Bekonscot Model Village & Railway Vlog 1st June 2019

Join me as I visit Bekonscot Model Village & Railway located in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England, UK
After further reading I found out that Bekonscot is derived from the names Beaconsfield and Ascot where the founder lived and it is the world’s oldest model village dating back to 1929
This stunning attraction is great for families and it also has a sit on train plus many other things to see and do

This the first vid of yours have seen. Having lived nearby in the 60's and 70's as a child it was a regular place to go, I loved it then, the moving trains were always the best part. Now I have taken my kids, and soon my grandkids to this quiet hidden gem. It is constantly changing and evolving over the years. I think you have done Bekonscot proud. I am so glad that as an adult you enjoyed it, it has a timeless appeal.

Such a nice place to spend an hour or two for a relaxing afternoon, better then sitting indoors slipping into a coma through sheer boredom. Because of your spontaneous inspired idea of going there for something to do on an afternoon I'll definitely give it a visit. Hi Andy I don't live too far from Beaconsfield went to Beckonscot when I was a child and more recently took my daughter when she was younger. Lovely place i Really like model villages. I enjoyed this vlog always enjoy when you do different things as well as the theme parks. Thanks for sharing with us xxxx The hooverlux building is a replica of the iconic Hoover building on the A40 going into London. There is a white horse on the hills in Weymouth Dorset. Xxx

Great blog, a bit of trivia for you, behind the green fence along the miniature railway, there used to be a few models that were salvaged from the old model world area of Thorpe Park. I don't think that they are stored there anymore though.

Sterling Vlog Andy, last went there around 20 years ago, great they added the sit on railroad. Made me laugh when i visited that they had some Koi in the harbor which due to scale looked like golden Megladon!!!! in the summer visit Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, their model village is crap in comparison BUT its in a pub's beer garden!!!!!!!!

Brilliant video! Bekonscot is definitely the best model village I've been to! I was there all day on Saturday for their 90th Anniversary! The reason they have to charge extra for the Bekonscot Light Railway is because if they didn't people would simply keep going on over and over forming long waiting times and the locos would work much harder with no money to maintain them.

Another Excellent Vlog Andy & funny enough one place on my list of many I want to visit. Ignore the thumbs down, probably not there thing. But it is certainly mine, there are model villages in Great Yarmouth in sunny Norfolk, Southport, Babacome Torquay. To name a few well worth a visit. Thank you for uploading ! The White Horse is at Westbury, just up the road from where I live. The animal park you were thinking of is Longleat. Thank you for posting this, I heard about it on the radio a writer was saying how it inspired some if his stories. Have a closer look at the model people next time you go, I think the fox was just one of the little jokes included.

Thanks Andy another good video and nice to see something different. If you ever go to whipsnade or Gulliver's Milton Keynes it would be good to see. Also there is a model village here in great Yarmouth between pleasure beach and joyland.

Therese Sargent i use to live near Milton Keynes and have been to Gullivers Land a few years ago but hopefully going back soon also not keen on Whipsnade, it’s so vast that sometimes you can’t see anything and would make for a boring vlog

If you like model villages you should try Merrivale Model Village in Great Yarmouth. I visited that one a few years ago and recorded a walkthough of the model village which I later uploaded onto my channel.

Great vlog about a great little place. I loved going to model railroad exhibits with my grandfather when I was little. Did this model village have a smaller model model village in it? BTW, the trams that go up and down the hillside are called an incline railway, or a funicular.
