After 6 qualifiers and hosts France, Last 5 spots : Africa will take 1 spot either; Egypt (164) or Tunisia (145) . Whichever has better world ranking May/June 2024.. Off the last 4 , with almost 100% probability Italy (342), Argentin (314) and Slovenia (307) will make it by world rankings. Last spot will be decided by rankings at the end of VNL2024 . Serbia (253) is odds on for that , but if they fail to do well, only 1 of the best out of : Cuba (237 ) , Netherlands (214), Türkiye (211) or Iran (208) can take their place, by taking over serbia in world rankings. Ranking points as of October 2023, end of olympic qualification points in parentheses.

I'm so sad for Belgium, can't believe they beat Canada and the Netherlands, fight with Poland and Argentina to the tie break and then lose against Bulgaria. This tournament is brutal. Belgium have young talents in the under19 team, maybe we'll see them shine in few years. Keep fighting red dragons, you should be proud.

I could not like this match loss to Belgium at all. How can a team that beat a strong team like Canada lose this match? Moreover, it was a match on the way to the Olympics. Anyway, Belgium is still not a bad team. The team will be even better in the future.

It's just a point and team Belgium may get a ticket to Paris Olympic 2024, but sadly they missed the match. Anyway, this is a sport thus chances is always there and they maybe get luckier next time.

I felt bad for Belgium. They were so close to making history after 56 years. I guess it was just not their time, sadly. To the players, whose this was their last opportunity at the Olympics...sorry. To young players, keep working hard, your turn will come eventually 🙏🙏.

Woww . What an opportunity missed by belgium. They are not in VNL or top 15 in the world. They probably will never come this close to qualifying again. They beat Canada , lost only marginally to favourites Argentina. They swam the sea but sank in a pond. Lost to a mediocre side ( bulgaria) in their last game by the smallest of margins. I can not say better luck next time , as it may not be for decades. They must be gutted :( (

Bulgaria mediocre? Bulgaria has potential and individuals to be back to top 10 in the world easily if they start playing consistent and like they truly can. So come back to Earth. Bulgaria was better than both Argentina and Belgium. And by individual class of player there is even not a comparison. Happy Bulgaria finally showed in last match some of their game.

There are no excuses for either of the teams. This new format of qualification is way better and fair. I can't tell for Belgium but to qualify for 2020 Olympics Bulgaria had to beat either Brazil or later consecutively France, Serbia, Netherlands, Germany and France(again), which Bulgaria almost did and only lost to hosts Germany at the end. Germany on the one hand picked the easiest possible group for themselves (less than 10% chance for that to "randomly" happen) and on the other hand later organized an impossible schedule for Bulgaria who had to play 3 days in a row, while Germany had a day off just before the match. Regarding the current schedule - Belgium had a couple of 5-setters, while Bulgaria only played 3-set matches, so it was also a question of which team was in better shape at the end of the tournament.

That setter of Belgium is to blame. Why did he set it to Reggers when he has a more experienced clutch player like Deroo? Poor, dumb decision-making skills, he should be blamed. He is the reason why Belgium didn't qualify to the Olympics.
