It amazes me how many people neglect to consider the fact the the second fight with Usman was in Salt Lake City. The reason Leon looked so dejected was because he was exhausted due to the altitude. As was every other fighter on the card other than Usman who trains at altitude all year round. Remember how Costa and Rockhold could barely stand up after three rounds!

Every Damon Martin interview just pumps up the fighter and almost serves as a fluff piece. Literally every question leads Belal into an easy answer/opportunity for self-promotion. More soft balls than a little league practice. Zero attempt at a more difficult question and zero attempt at challenging any of his answers. It's like he wants every fighter to love him.
@rhysperegrine51005 ай бұрын
Telling that the only thing about a Belal interview that gets people talking is the mic technique of the interviewer
@canalufcfight5 ай бұрын
This fight is closer than people think. I looked at both fighters' records on ESPN's website, and what I noticed is that both are guys who love a decision. They are both good at the same thing, which is controlling the fight, the pace of the fight. Ok, Belal has many wins by decision, but most of Leon's recent wins were also by decision. And we can't even say, "oh, but Leon's level of competition was much higher than Belal's." On the contrary, Belal's last 4 fights were against well-known names in the division. Belal is on a 9-fight winning streak against names like Vicente Luque, Gilbert Burns, Demian Maia, Sean Brady, etc. What Leon is really good at is controlling the pace of his fights through good fight IQ and kicks, where he has good low kicks. But I don't find Leon's boxing very dangerous. Leon is a Muay Thai guy, his strengths are kicks, clinch, and elbows. I don't think Belal will have much trouble with Leon's boxing. But of course, Leon is a better striker than Belal, while Belal is a better grappler than Leon. Although Leon has more submissions in his career, it's hard to imagine Leon submitting Belal. I think the key to victory for both is how willing they are to expose themselves more because both have similar goals in their styles, although the styles are different. Both are good at controlling the pace of the fight while exposing themselves as little as possible.

@michaelhall6725 ай бұрын
@@ralphmadrid6982 That's not a very good example because Leon won the first round against Usman as well, then went on to win in the fifth after losing the next few rounds. It wasn't like Leon lost the first and went onto win. Plus Belal has never ever shown single shot KO power so hard to see him doing what Leon did with that head kick.

@ralphmadrid69825 ай бұрын
@@H4mmis we aren't talking about the 3rd fight where Leon won..The whole point was that you can't say just because Leon won the first round against Belal that he was going to win the fight. I am a Leon fan also but I speak the truth. If you are going to say ohh round 1 Leon kicked Bilal ass and because of that he will win the fight....my point was if that was the case Usman broke Leon in there 2nd fight but look what happened...Last 20 seconds Leon kicked him in the head and put him to sleep. That was basically my point. Plus, I think Leon shouldn't underestimate or sleep on Belal...Belal has gotten souch better especially the last year and half or maybe longer ever since he has been part of the Dagestani "Khabib & Islam" training camps. I'm not saying Leon will lose but hopefully he is in his camp working his ass off cuz Belal is going to show up ready ready. 😊
