One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Especially when it comes to male duets. Just stunning, and Ramin and Cheyenne both do an incredible job. Love it 😍

Lily is dead and was married to one brother. The other brother was secretly in love with her. "The girl" who has Lily's eyes is the niece who comes to live with them and when they see Lily in her eyes it reminds them of the Lily they lost.

I like both performers, but I don't like this version of the song. It's too slow and doesn't build. it's not as dramatic as it should be. When I saw this song performed in the show, it was thrilling.

@@susancastiglione8654 Wow. Really impressive. They both possess great voices. The Secret Garden bored me to tears when I saw it, but Lily's Eyes completely blew me away.
@m-edesharnais5409 Жыл бұрын
I think it's because they just "sang" it here, and not "acted" it, like they did in the 25th anniversary concert. Where you can see Cheyenne being "envious and jealous of his brother's happiness", while Ramin was all like "I still cannot believe, even after all those years, that a lady like HER loved a man like me, and that I, me, got to be the one to make HER happy" in his acting, smiling, placing his hand on his heart, and almost shedding a tear!! THAT was something!! 🤩🤩

The problem is Jaskson is a tenor singing Baritone, and the meat of his voice is in the upper register's. Someone like Norm Lewis singing his part would be a better casting choice, but they do a fine job notheless.

I thought the balance was good enough for a gala performance. Jackson and Karimloo played Neville and Archie in the superb 25th anniversary staging at Lincoln Center in 2016. There’s no better team singing this iconic duet today! Let’s hope the Broadway revival meets the same standard.

In the show the two characters are singing separately and unaware of each other. The widowed husband has no idea that his brother was also in love with Lily. If they could hear each other that secret would be revealed. Even though it’s a duet, each is oblivious to the other.
