The guy wearing glasses and black hoodie is Matt Squire the producer. The guy sitting on the couch wearing the black ball cap and jeans jacket is their manager Rudy Joffroy.

David B. did the mix for song, but nothing else. TW arranged and recorded their parts in at home in Mexico and Alessia her part while in Canada, then the demo was sent to Bendeth in NJ for the mix. He didn't do the arrangement or production. He was unaware of this project until TW contacted him and asked him if he wasn't busy could he mix the song for them. This was done for the Metallica Blacklist album, not as click bait for their new album. The Warning in this video are: Daniela Villarreal guitar, 21; Paulina V. drums, 19; Alejandra V. bass, 16. Paulina V. the drummer did the prayer. All the vocals are TW and Alessia. The collaboration was suggested to Metallica by Chris Smith of 21 Entertainment Group in Toronto and they liked the idea. Both TW and Alessia are featured artists with 21 EG. They had a week to arrange, record, mix, and submit their song to the Blacklist team for inclusion to the for charity Blacklist album. From what I gathered watching some of the docu-vlogs Bendeth did challenge the girls, but he could only push so far before they ganged up and challenged him back. His story of seeing how far he could push is hilarious as the vlog shows. By all accounts, they had a great relationship and I think they both got what they wanted. Interesting dynamic since The Warning's contract with Lava is supposed to guarantee that the girls have creative control.

I’ve heard there have been some amazing back and forwards with Bendeth and artists. At the end of the day, I agree, the artist should have the final say. But it’s like athletes having specified coaches - their job is to help you find where you’re about to break and make sure you feel comfortable and won’t hurt yourself. Fantastic colab.

The way Pau put it in one of the documentaries is that they learned that when they wanted to push back they needed to elucidate why they were doing so. The example I recall her using was "I picked this chord because I want it to sound sad here, and this chord sounds sad to me", not simply "this is what I wanted to do". So not simply pushback, but rather reasoned objection.

Ale was actually 15 when she got her endorsement and it took almost a year for Spector to complete her custom bass which she received in Sept 2020 when they arrived in New Jersey to record the album. She was 16 at the time.

Your right David sent his Tech to Mexico for the Warning and Canada for Alessias parts. Those were sent to David for mixing. They had recently finished recording The Warning in David's studio. The whole project of arranging, recording and making the Video was done in a week. Metallica liked it so much they made it the first track on the Blacklist album. (ahead of like 51 other covers)

Matt Squire went to Mexico to work with The Warning and remotely he recorded Alessia parts . And this song is not the first song in the Black list album because of Metallica liked it but because of alphabet order. That's why Alessia go first. Cheers!

First - GO TO THE SHOW!!! They're worth a week or two of eating Ramen to see live. Doesn't matter who the headliner is, The Warning are worth the price admission just for their set. For the Metallica Blacklist album with 53 artist doing their own rendition of a song from the Black Album the question was asked to Alessia Cara if she wanted to contribute on the album and she is on the same agency as TW and someone suggested to Alessia Cara a cooperation with TW. The rest is history as they say. From Metallica’s point of view in an interview with Rolling Stone “We said, ‘Pick a song. Do what you want with it. Alessia Cara is the guest singer (it's actually the other way around, but semantics), and she is who you see, projected on the walls. Pau the drummer is doing the prayer. This is on the Metallica Black list LP, and why they did it. They also did this in less then a week, from start to finish. Bendeth did not change or add anything to the tracks other then dubbing and mixing. They play this Live just as you heard it here, minus the guest singer. When they recorded the Error LP, Bendeth said he only used the best recordings of them playing in his studio, nothing altered in any way, where they spent a cold 3 months with him, in NJ. Oh... they write everything themselves, and Pau is the mastermind behind most all of it, and has for many years now. Keep going!

Actually, this song is first because the Blacklist album follows the same track order as the Black album, so ES is 1st. Then the artists who submitted a version of each song are placed in alphabetical order so, Alessia Cara is first alphabetically for the ES entries. So, they ended up first track first CD. But, It's still the best of all the submissions.

Ale's Spector bass has The Warning's custom logo on the fretboard. Dany's PRS has her name on the head stock. 🙂 It's all The Warning and the only other vocalist is Alessia Cara. They are all part of the same label so they put them together for this song. Alessia is more pop/soul. David Bendeth produced and mixed The Warning's 3rd album, Mayday.

Ale's custom bass is the one with the lightning bolt logo on the fretboard the same one thats on the kick drum. She is not using it in this video, this one is a loaner black Spector used in this video and the video for Martirio. Same for Dany, she is using a loaner black PRS in both videos.

For someone who pays such close attention to detail as you do, I am surprised at what you missed. This is a collaboration between Canadian Grammy-winning pop singer Alessia Cara and The Warning. Alessia is the singer projected on the walls. Paulina Villarreal is the drummer for The Warning band, and not a guest vocalist. Otherwise a great reaction!

The Warning Army has already been here in force so I'll go in a different direction. When Pau the drummer was 16 she was too nervous to enter the international drumming competition for females 'Hits Like A Girl'. The next year THEY contacted her and asked her to be the 'face' of the competition, a judge, and to play a drum duet with the previous year's winner. Yeah they knew who SHE was! TW and Bendeth created an extraordinary album together and also developed a close personal relationship. When it was time for TW to leave after three months with David both he and Pau cried. He's been to some of their shows and continues to support them. Imo he really helped put them over the top. Great reaction, enjoy your ride on The Warning track!👏

I'm not a musician so went to Andrew Rooney Drums yt ch, a drummer and drum teacher who does great reaction/analysis videos, highly recommend him. He's reacted to several of her videos and was quite impressed with her HLAG submission Led Zep Good Times Bad Times. Then he reacted to Cream Sunshine Of Your Love..."scarily good, so clean, her best yet" along with technical analysis. Andrew's also done several reactions to Pau and has been very complimentary as well. So yes a couple of incredible young drummers!👏

It's Ale's custom Spector USA 5 that has no fret makers except a single lightning bolt on the third fret, in this video she is playing her Spector Alex Webster Signature Euro V. She also has a Spector Rachel Bolan Signature Euro IV, red Fender Mustang and her first bass, a red Ibanez miKro. Dany has a custom cherry PRS but it has the normal bird fret makers plus this black PRS and a beautiful blue PRS to go along with her two custom Rick Toone Spearfish guitars and Fender Acoustistrat.

You already reacted to 2 songs the warning produced with David Bendeth, Evolve and Choke. Enter sandman was produced mainly by The Warning (PDA -Pau,Dany,Ale) and Matt Squire (someone they had worked with before), they then got Alessia's approval and recorded her audio. I don't mean to rain on your Bendeth parrade but he did not have as big as influence on THIS song as you want to believe. By this point they had recorder ERROR with about a year back, so I'm sure he left an imprint, but he was only involved in producing the final mix with everything that was sent to him.

Guess others have already told you by now, but Bendeth had nothing to do with this other than final mixing. I don't think I ever heard so much misinformation in one reaction before. You really have a lot to learn if you are going to keep doing reactions to this band. "Guest singer doing the prayer?" Yup you got a lot to learn. The guest vocalist was Alessia Cara, the singer who did the opening segment of the song and whose image is projected onto the wall. The ladies also give Alessia credit for coming up with the harmonies on the final three "hush little..." things.

Personally I'm not digging the psychedelic approach of this version. It's completely different from all their original songs and it always takes me out of the flow. I understand that they're proud of being asked by Metallica to do this but I hope they drop it from the set on the next tour to make room for another original.

Psychedelic? I grew up on '60s - '70s music, so I know what psychedelic sounded like and I certainly don't hear any of it here. As for myself, I love this studio version, and think it's a masterpiece. But I don't particularly like the version they do live.
