I was looking for a pic of a no.16 (and found one) as we lived out that way; off the Upper Newtownards Road. Need to find a pic of a no. 17 now. Thank You Belfast Jack, it's all a long time ago now.

This is a cool video, my name is Anthony, I was born in Canada , my parents are from Belfast and when I was 6 we moved to Belfast in 1969, I don't remember the trolleys running anymore thou I remember a bus depot near where my father was from Victor st I even remember the bombing fire there we lived of Susan st and I still could remember the smoke, we came back to Canada 1972 but I always loved the double Deckers I guess that's why I'm a bus driver and drive a Double Decker , I was wondering is there any videos of the Deckers of that time I remember there was 3 different ones plus a single level one? Also is the Blue Ulster bus still running, I remember taking to Uncles in Monkstown

Did you know that it was a Belfast Corporation rule that only Protestant workers could drive their bus’s, and Catholic’s were only to be conductors! So when tokens were introduced in the early seventies, conductors were no longer employed. There were riots and bus burnings as a result. By the way the no 13 was always the Falls bus.
