Darren Haughey
Darren Haughey is a design engineer, who has worked within the FE sector for approx. 4 years. Darren came to work at the colleges after 8 years of working in the materials handling sector where he specialised in design of tooling & fixtures, design of bespoke parts for special projects.
Since then Darren has worked within a range of businesses across various industries delivering mentoring and carrying out R&D projects. Recent experience has seen Darren work with companies in machinery design, jewellery and prop design, vehicle design, packaging, health & fitness amongst various other fields. Expertise includes CAD, Design For Manufacture, Production Planning, Lean Six Sigma, New Product Development etc. An ever growing focus is put on environmental aspects of design and manufacture, which is embedded where possible into his approach.
