That was a aluminum frame with a cr 500 engine snugged in there. Over in the GP's they did not have the production rule where so many bikes have to be made for the masses for them to race one. They built it and raced for the hell of it. Great!

Yes it was a prototype but Everts was stronger than everyone. Never seats, and on the torque of engine

I was just searching for big bore 2T clips, as I have some mid 80's Husky 500's, and an '88 510. But watching this and another similar GP does have me wondering what the rules are. Obviously its kind of a run whatcha brung/want to. Even though its called a 500 GP. So 500 2T's, 250 2T's, & 400 to 500cc 4T's also. I do recall back in the 80's Magoo Chandler cleaning the clocks in one of these some how on a 125 which was a mind blower Considering I'd never guess on a fast track GP that was possible

I was just watching/wondering about that. I'm also a tiny bit confused watching this and another similar even same period, where its a 500 GP. So I was expecting all 2T big bore bikes, and yet here seem to be 500 and a little better cc 4T's, or are they just 450's? I'm not that familiar, obviously. Thought I'm seeing Husabergs, and such. Now I have an '88 Husky 510 4T, but I thought by the late 90's they'd already stopped making race 4T's above 450cc. Guess I'm wrong/still confused a touch.
