well said! i find lately that as much as i love the gospel, the church, and the culture of the church is increasingly difficult. thank you for this, and the reminder that always striving and the focus on Christ is what's important.

I've always believed and accept that assurance as a gift, perhaps earned elsewhere. However, I take comfort in Terryl's plea for acceptance of doubt or versions of weak or strong trust or even hope. Painfully, he says in "our culture doubt is sometimes considered almost criminal." Thank you. Terryl, for the challenge to be his disciples, or as Thayne and Gantt, suggest, the Savior's "Truth-Persons" ["Who Wh/at is Truth"].

Well we are encouraged to say I KNOW everytime we share a testimony.

No one has to say that. It's just that many people who do know the church is true and so they say it. But that is in no way putting pressure on anyone.

Only say “know” if you “know” but in reality we don’t really know anything 🤷🏼♀️ I “believe” is more accurate

I say "I BELIEVE", and I am happy about that. We should only say "I know" when we know. We should say "I believe" when we believe. Some leaders are not sensitive or aware of persons who do not know.

If you think hearing others saying it is some form of encouragement, then that's your interpretation I suppose, bit I've never had anyone in any capacity in the church say such a thing
