This is an exceptional video. In a short time it achieves both depth and breadth. There is a clarity here that I have not encountered in other introductions.

Surprising no reference to Greek influence on early Buddhist art. Hard to believe Afghanistan was once a Greek-speaking country visited by Buddhist missionaries.

Most interesting. I hope when all the madness in the Islamic world dies down it will be possible to restore the great statues of the Buddha which were destroyed in Afghanistan.

It's very sad. I hope the statues of Buddha which were destroyed in Afghanistan can be restored when this madness ends.

It's interesting that there are so many parallels between Catholicism and Buddhism. I don't consider Islam worthy of respect, but i can respect muslims in compassion....
