It always amazes me how often incredibly talented and beautiful people have these deep rooted insecurities about themselves.....I went to watch Belinda Carlisle last night at Towradgi beach hotel Wollongong and she was full of grace, in both voice and movement.....she delivered beautifully. I only wish she had talked more, engaged with us a bit more. Never the less, it was unforgettable, Thank you Belinda.

I just got all 4 Deluxe albums! Very pleased with them>Thank you for making them:) Anyways you know she's talking about the song 'Falling Into You' that didn't make her album. Did it later turn out to be the song Falling Into You that Celine Dion recorded, and also titled her album that?

Francis.Hearn there were eight or nine songs that Belinda put on hold in 1995 for her album…four of them were written by Diane Warren who had previously written the Belinda hit "I get weak" and "world without you". When was the song written by Belinda's producer Rick Knowells, and one was the song the Belinda found by a little British indie band called Ednaswap. the Ednaswap song, called "Torn" and the Knowells track "Falling Into You" we're Belinda's two favorite tracks and the two songs that she plans to release as singles from her album. Unfortunately her label arc 21, an independent division of chrysalis records would not pay the amount of money needed to clear the licensing for those songs and Celine Dion's team took falling into you for the album that she was working on at the time… Which she titled "falling into you". and the song "Torn" was licensed against Ednaswap's permission by RCA records and given to an up-and-coming singer named Natalie Imbruglia… It became her one hit single and Belinda was left without any of the songs that she really wanted for her album… As the story goes, Belinda was waiting to hear back from her the record label as to when she would be able to go into the studio to finish her album when she happened to walk into a store and saw "a woman and a man" in the new release bin....her label released unfinished recordings and songs that she didn't plan on putting on the album at all as the album without her permission and didn't even let her know it was being released. This is why she rarely performs anything from that album and why she rarely talks about it.

I have been a Belinda fan since the 80s ( I am 48) - after the RUNAWAY HORSES album. I did not pay much attention to her career after this. I had totally bypassed the 3 albums of Live Your Life Be Free/ Real/ A Woman And A Man- life goes on, music tastes change and other than listening to Belinda's older stuff, her later albums I could have cared less about. I knew no songs or videos from the 3 albums I passed on. I read her memoir a few months ago, and that peaked my interested in the 3 albums I passed on. I went back and discovered them, and was literally blown away at how fabulous they are. Belinda confesses A Woman And A Man, was lacking in her enthusiasm. She does not seem to be a fan of the album, she says she pretty much went through the motions of recording it, but could have cared less about it. I think she was back into drugs for what she says. She states her record company gave no promotion etc. From my perspective this album is SUPER AMAZING. I am obsessed with it. I love all 3 of the albums I had previously passed on. The are underrated gems in my opinion. I don't have the EXPANDED/ DELUXE editions. They are not released here in North America, and I cannot afford them right now. But will eventually get them one by one. From what I have seen online they are really well packaged and put together. Something to look forward to for myself
