We did manage to do a fair bit of windsurfing....winds tend to be light (15 to 20 knots) and are often onshore allowing for really nice long rides along the shore....a really beautiful place to windsurf.
Vela has a centre on Glovers Atoll which is pretty remote...looks very cool...check out this site....

There are plenty of places to rent diving gear and the diving and snorkelling are awesome.We took a day trip on a catamaran out to Hol Chan Marine reserve and shark Ray Alley....Seaduced offers a variety of excursions....for more info here is the website...
