Bell Tent Glamping at Lake Eildon with Wood Stove | [ AUSTRALIA ] [ Relaxing Sounds and Fire ]

Glamping by the lake. The 5 metre Homecamp bell tent and Winnerwell wood stove make winter camping fun. This is one of the sites in the Delatite plantation area. I actually forgot to check which site exactly but I'm pretty sure it was either Kirby's or Taylors.

Thanks for the vid. Are you happy with the home camp tent? I'm looking at getting the 4.5m one for my family (2 adults, 2 kids). Any issues with leaking around the flue? Thanks, happy camping

Hi Ben. It's a high quality product. There was some minor leaking around the wood stove lid but only if it's not burning properly (i.e. if you choke the chimney too much). You have to be very careful around the stove, I wouldn't trust it with 2 kids. Best thing about it is it gives you an awesome hangout space protected from bugs and mosquitoes. Worst thing about it is that 40kg of canvas and pvc floor is a real pain, especially if it's wet. Expect to clean the tent a lot (muddy / dusty floors, stains on the canvas). For longer stays in a caravan or holiday park it's excellent. Like if I was to stay at the beach for a week, this is the tent that I would want because unlike a polyester tent you can fold up the walls and hang out in there even on a hot summers day. But for short stays and free camping it was too much work for us and we rarely stay anywhere longer than a night so we have since sold it. Once it's all set up and smoke is pumping out of the chimney it's impossible not to love. Then in the morning of the last day you will look at all the stuff you need to pack up and have regrets. But this is the same with any large tent.

The no camping sign is from when the water level was low and people would camp on the lake bed, where I set up is ok haha

thanks for posting this video, Im actually starting out camping myself soon going with a swag initially but really like the bell tents as well. be much better once I have all the kit as i can bring in all the gear like you have there awesome tents.

Sounds good! There's something to be said about traveling light, it will make you very happy when you only have to pack up a swag in the morning!
