¨Bella ciao" ("Goodbye beautiful") is an Italian folk song that was adopted as an anthem of the anti-fascist resistance. It was used by the Italian partisans during the Italian Civil War between 1943 and 1945 in their struggle against the fascist Italian Social Republic and its Nazi German allies. "Bella ciao" is used worldwide as an anti-fascist hymn of freedom and resistance. The song has much older origins though in the hardships of the mondina women, the paddy field workers in the late 19th century who sang it as a protest against harsh working conditions in the paddy fields in North Italy.
I do not own any of the audio or footage used in this video, all content belongs to their respective owners.
These songs are for educational purposes and do not reflect my beliefs or are meant to further a political agenda.

Not to mention you added the + meaning it's even longer than that. It's not your Italian heritage making you feel patriotic, it's the fact that its a patriotic song.

Did you all just realised that Italy is one the most UNLUCKIEST countries to ever exist? All from Teutoburg when the Romans lost and got tortured and raped, then the empire fell, Italy got conquered by Byzantine Empire and lombards, then it got divided even more, Federico Barbarossa tried to unify Italy but he failed and Pó valley got annexed by the HRE, then it fell and Italy remained divided and in military stagnation until maybe 600s, then the Napoleonic wars came and Italy got fucked again because of one island that could just be kept by Genova but no, France annexed it, then the 1861 arrived and Italians fought *3* wars of independence, Italy was united but poor and Full of illiterate, in the 900s Italy got some "luck" with Libya and colonies and the II industrial revolution, after that WW1 came and It was a weak victory so ehm mussolini founded the fascist party and fought a war with the wrong side, got betrayed by Germans that invaded italy, He threatened them to destroy the big Italian cities, Italy got double invaded and Anglo-Americans won, then Italy became a democratic republic and until the 85s had an economic boom but also terrorism, in 2000s Look at how it's economy and Politicd are bad and there's lots of corruption mi fa un male acuto al cuore dirlo ma l'Italia è maledetta e bisogna darsi da fare con la D maiuscola per tirare avanti questo paese

I think this one has a bittersweet feel to it, as though the narrator is expecting to die, he’s also expecting freedom to come back to Italy. He believes his side is going to win, and that his people are going to remember the people who died fighting for Italian freedom. A wonderful song in its own right.

yeah, especially because it was a song of the people, one that the CLN fought against fascism. It should always be public domain, privatising it literally ruins the struggles and the sacrifices that the partisans made for our freedom.

We gladly laid down our lives for the liberation of the Fatherland in those 20 arduous months, and we managed to create something similar to a People's Army, which unfortunately was disbanded when us communists and socialist, for the sake of peace, decided to laid down our weapons when the american imperialists and our former allies, the decieving Christian Democrat burgeois, asked us to. A similar error must and shall not be repeated, both in Italy and in each country of the world.

Alas the various right wing, far-right, to fascist or even para-fascist is on the rise. If I understand these groups they tend to co-opt many centre-leftish to left wing-ish words to make themselves feel more enticing to the common crowd. I will always come back to this song. Honour to the brave partisans that fought against the evils of fascist tyranny.

@@CMLL.7350 i wonder why that happens to be the case? might be because capitalists privatized and profiteered the living shit out of those things. communism and the progressive left doesnt inherently engender a social system that fucking generates food out of thin air, prints a ton of money, or pumps raw material out of the earth's crust. those things take time to organize under a system like that, and when powerful people work against such a system that they see as a threat to their own power, naturally theyre going to sabotage and attempt to dismantle it. a socialized system is one where people all have a stake in these aspects of society equally, rather than a handful of rich folks over 99% of others who actually work, grieve, and die for some of the things that are necessitized by society. seriously, can't you piece two and two together instead of rely on the same old generalizations you were taught in grade school? it's an answer to a problem, the problem being classical capitalism.
