I can hear your calm voice as I read and look at your beautiful new book. (You Can Crochet with Bella Coco). It’s so nicely laid out with a progression of learning as you go through. So you can choose a project that you know you can follow. Then if in a mood to be challenged, learn a new skill from clearly explained and photographed page(s) on that skill and then use to make a suitable project. It’s also nice that it’s written in uk terms so can just crochet straight away, without checking and converting the stitch names.

What a wonderful bag, question... how to make upside down u pattern? I was planning to do a drawstring bag with a design in mind but i dont know how yet. this will be the first time i'll be doing a drawstring bag tbh.

What other yarn can i use besides yours how much is your kit for this bag. I can not afford much so its y im asking what other bulky yarn i can use and what weight is it. What size hook is that in the US? Says charmed chunky but need to know the weight like 5 or 6?

Hey Karen - I would think you will get a lovely result from whatever yarn you choose to use. If you buy a 5, then just go with the hook size that yarn maker recommends for that product. Same as if you try a 6 (maybe a J hook) - or even. a thinner yarn, such as a 4 weight. Using a smaller hook (perhaps an H), your bag will also be darling but just smaller. Just jump in and make one with what you have on hand or can afford - experiments are fun!! Good luck 👍

My treble stitches always end up flat and look nothing like yours do you know why?

I would make sure you're working your treble stitches correctly - I have a tutorial here that goes over them in depth: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIS4ooCMlJx6mrc They can also appear differently depending on the yarn and hook you're using. Thicker yarn can often make stitches look plumper, for example 😊
