I used this for nesting baskets for a baby room. Chained 10, 8, and then 6 (Lg, med, sm) The large one was a bit wobbly so I made it extra extra tall and folded in on itself and sewed it up, so now it's double as thick and well reinforced. I did the big one in grey with light blue trim on top and bottom, and the med & sm ones are light blue with grey trim. Your videos are fantastic!! I've gained a ton of confidence in myself and even opened an Etsy shop for my makes. Thank you Sarah

Do you think you could make this basket with a bigger base and do it with single crochet instead of double and half double crochet?

You could certainly play around with a different stitch; single crochets will work up much tighter and smaller so you will need to add more rounds to make the base bigger 😊

Hi! Thanks so much for all your videos. I didn’t know how to crochet at first but following your beginners tutorial got me going. I’m just wondering, if I wanted to continue making a larger base for like an oval rug instead of a basket, how would the pattered be? What do I keep adding on the edges? Is every row different?
@bellacococrochet5 жыл бұрын
You're very welcome, I'm so happy to hear my tutorials have helped you 🙂 If you wanted to make a larger base you would just need to keep on increasing by making two trebles in each stitch around the curve, until you reach the size you want. Hope this helps! 🙂

Bella; no matter how hard I try to get stitch out right , I always have 9 in between curved ends ! What could I so to correct this? Thanks
@bellacococrochet8 ай бұрын
I’d recommend using stitch markers to help you keep track of the number of stitches you have; it may be that your initial count is incorrect 😊 I’d also bear in mind that crochet is quite forgiving and if you have one extra stitch along the sides, I wouldn’t worry too much.
@twilaaffolder26108 ай бұрын
I followed your video more in depth and realized I was counting the single stitch after the end curve as one of the side stitches. Since then it's fine.

Nicola Chester no in the last increase row, she was doing 1treble in one stitch, then 2 trebles in next one. If you wanna increase more then you have to: 1dc in one stitch, 1dc again into next stitch, 2dc into newt stitch. can you see the pattern now? 1dc, 1dc, 2dc into 3 stitches. if you wanna increase even more then in next row around the edges: 1dc, 1dc, 1dc, 2dc in 4 stitches. hope that helped❤

How do I make this bigger? Do I increase the base by continuing doing an increase every 3rd stitch, then following that an increase every 4th stitch? This is the only tutorial for what I want, but struggling to make it bigger.... Any help is greatly appreciated!
@MaeNotEast7 жыл бұрын
+Shirley Stokes First you'd have to increase the number of stitches in your initial chain. That would make the basket longer. That would mean you'd also be increasing the number of stitches you make in between the end stitch cluster increases. e.g. The current pattern calls for chain 10, leaving 8 stitches between the end clusters, plus the one stitch on each side. If you increased the length to chain 15, you'd have 13 stitches between the ends. The increases at the end actually increase the width. This is a little trickier as doing it wrong can result in a warped bottom. What you suggested sounds good to me, but I'm not a pro. If it doesn't work you can always rip it out back to where the problem started and try something else. That's the beauty of crochet - it's so easy to correct your work without losing too much of it.
