Hello, a hundred Thank You’s for this video. It is so easy to do & after I did a few rows after the star I found it very easy to remember the stitches. I chose to do mine w/a red star w/3 rows of white & 3 rows of soft navy & repeating them in order to follow the red, white & blue scheme. I thought a J hook might be too large but it’s really not. The J hook makes it a softer afghan. I’m doing it for a raffle as a big ticket item for my husbands 25th Infantry Division Survivors Reunion held every August near Washington, DC. I did the 3rd row of white & am starting the soft navy. It’s coming together real nice. I just love this pattern & can’t think of any other way of honoring our Vets than with one of these. Thank you again.

Modified a little to kind of accommodate using size 6 super bulky yarn and a 10mm or N hook. Instead of doing the 4 rounds for the puff stitch, do 2, followed instructions as instructed in video. Hello! At 7:14 you slip stitch into the 3rd chain to join the round. I noticed you only go into one loop and not 2 loops of the chain. Is there a difference? I just found this tutorial and I think i am going to use this pattern for a temperature blanket!
@bellacococrochet8 жыл бұрын
When I'm working into the top on the chain, I tend to only go through one loops. I suppose otters people might go through two. Its just the way I do it, no right or wrong- personal preference :)

Love this pattern. Making a baby blanket for my niece/nephew who is due in a few months. The middle of my star isn't laying flat though. The corners aren't curling in, but it's a bit puffy in the center. As I work out, will the weight of the blanket pull this puff out?

Did you ever get an answer for this or did it sort itself out? Mines doing the same
@curtboston8 жыл бұрын
I love this blanket pattern and get a lot of compliments on it, but I feel like the center protrudes out more because it is more of a solid shape than the rest of the blanket. I've done blocking on it, but it still feels like a protrusion. Any way that can be lessened?

@bellacococrochet8 жыл бұрын
+Xanthe Doe you might find that the large it gets, the more it will lay flat because of the weight of it. Try not to crochet too tightly as this might also be causing it to curl. xx
@xanthedoe18808 жыл бұрын
+Bella Coco ok thank you. I think maybe I've crocheted to tightly. I may just start all over again with a hook 2 sizes bigger to counteract the tight tension. Thank you for the quick reply ^_^ xx

Hi I have made the star with a 4mm but once I start the blanket it won't lay flat, I tried a 4,5 now swopped to a 4 this is the second one I have made can you help
@bellacococrochet Жыл бұрын
This pattern normally lays nice and flat so I would have a quick check that you're working it correctly; the pattern is worked on a three row repeat but remember only two of those rounds have the increases at the star points, and the other one has just (one treble, chain two, one treble). If you're sure you're working everything correctly you can try blocking your blanket - just pin it and stretch it out into shape 😊

@UltimateGinge257 жыл бұрын
I'm sure my reply is way too late, but an idea might be just to make the circle rug and sew the star on after. Although that would leave the star slightly raised, so maybe my idea isn't the best. :/ Also, Captain America Shield rug? You're awesome!

Hi I followed this pattern using a 4.5 hook and dk wool but the middle is not laying flat, can you help

It's quite common for the middle to bunch up at first until you've added more rounds, but you could also try adjusting your hook size down to a 4mm 😊
