The mental image of an angry mob breaking into a jail to hang someone is scary. Not saying that he deserved much better, but it's scary what people are capable of in mob mentality.

It had nothing to do with justice anyway. The mob grew as the news kept coming and everybody was joining for fun and the opportunity to be a part of the chase and perhaps shoot a few guys. They just enjoyed the mayhem and hoped to live their lynch fantasies out... You know, the more the merrier, and don't forget to bring your guns to the party!

Holy cannoli!! I’m from Abilene which is maybe a 20ish minute drive from Cisco. Crazy hearing a case so close to my hometown. Fun fact: I worked from a different bank in the area a few years ago and the only bank robbery we had was someone who robbed the bank and then sat in the lobby eating cookies and waiting for the cops. It either took place at the branch in Cisco or Clyde (in between Abilene and Cisco).

If only Bonnie and Clyde were robbing banks at that time, they could’ve recruited the two of them and probably would’ve gotten away it. Especially Clyde, because Clyde had a lot more common sense than these goofs. Cheers to covering this case. Pretty fascinating. Definitely movie worthy.

@@christyjordan4690 go to Maes meat market to eat in eastland , or the red gap brewery in cisco , waverlys in cisco for coffee . There’s an abandoned zoo in cisco from the 1920s lots to do ! It was an old oil boom town so it used to be poopin . There’s a lake in eastland called ringling that was for the ringling bros to have their circus but it never happened because of the crash so it’s just a random closed off nature spot that isn’t open to the public

Holy shit, Cisco is where my ex husband and his family are from! It’s such a tiny, charming little town and everyone is related. My kiddos are related to like half the town! The streets are still made out of the adorable bricks that the city streets were originally paved with. It’s so crazy, I had never seen streets that were laid with literally red bricks.
