Hey guys! Happy to be back post WSOP. Full disclosure: I’ve realized that it's really tough to study and improve my game while also posting consistent MTT videos. I love vlogging and want to balance it w making progress as a player-and winning HEAPS! To explore that balance going forward, I'll be mixing in more cash game videos as well as live streams here on KZbin! More details on the live stream stuff to come 🔥🔥

Really have enjoyed your tourney videos, this was a nice break from the feeling of blinding down and making alot of decisions pre flop, even though I really like the stakes of tournaments, looking forward to seeing you play more cash at the same time continue the grind of making the money and running deep!!! So delighted to see a woman putting out high quality poker content. Particularly love the four-color card graphics. I know live players don't like the 4-colors, but I love 'em. 1. 77 top set. I rarely advocate slow playing a set, but in that configuration, in-position, when the villain has one of 2.5 hands, raising the flop would be malpractice. Perfectly played, and very gracious to turn the set over when he showed the aces. The backpack/hoodie kids would all keep the cards down until the river. 2. J9s getting 3-bet (next hand). I don't like calling the 3-bet. You're out of position, the villain is short, you don't tend to flop hands that you just want to get it in. You get what amounts to a perfect flop for your hand (jack-high, no flush), and yet you still feel obliged to fold the river. Rivers are grossly - *grossly* - under-bluffed in live games, and I think you made a good fold, but you never shoulda been there in the first place. I just snap fold the hand to a 3bet preflop, and count all the chips the OMC gave me with his aces. (P.S. I look like an OMC, down to the coffee).
@leehjones
@leehjones 3 жыл бұрын
Just saw the results. Heh. If he's going to keep doing that, his chips are either going to the table at large (if he tries that with everybody) or just you (if he specializes in doing that to young women). Don't sweat it - the next 2-3 hands you play with him, you get his stack.

Enjoying your work. Keep it up!! The A3 bluffer was trying to tell you he had the 4. That was a totally polarized play on his part. He had a 4 or air. Given the action earlier on the earlier streets, there was very little evidence that he could have had the 4. I understand the cautious fold, but I think I would have had to call.

Just came across your vlog, nice job. I went ahead and subscribed, I also watch the Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme vlogs. I actually sat next to you in a 1/3 NL game at the Bellagio back in fall 2012 when Jesse made the “November Nine.” You’ve come a long way since then obviously. I only play recreationally at smaller stakes, but am ahead pretty well in the long run (I track all my results). I might just have to jump into a bigger game next time I’m in Vegas if this is a typical 5/10 NL game.

10:25 I think a 4-bet pre is mandatory. The 3-bettor is known to be silly, and now you've got a fishy guy cold-calling. It's going to be tough to play that hand OP against two others, especially with the button being deep with you. I make it $250-$270, plan to win the pot right now. If silly 3-bettor rips it, just go with it. But there's the button's money potentially dead in there, and you don't need to play a bloated pot 3-ways with a hand that marginal/vulnerable.

Great video! What's the reasoning for the varied ISO raise sizes with 1 limper? I figure 5-6x over 1 limper is a nice sizing to stick with. But, saw you had a 4x ISO with the 77 hand.

7:15 Bigger bet on the flop. Very wet board going multi-way and you get spectacular value from all heart draws and both of the remaining aces. There's $150 in the middle on the flop (nice graphics, easy to follow action), make it one black chip and proceed from there. You really don't want both calling.
@leehjones
@leehjones 3 жыл бұрын
Same hand. I like checking the turn for all the reasons you said (though if you'd bet $100 on the flop, you might have lost the Q9). On the river, I don't like calling, mostly because of the button behind you *and* that the bettor was willing to bet into two people. if you'd been heads-up, I mighta called it a coin flip, but with the bettor willing to bet into two others *and* the possibility that the button could wake up with a hand, I think you get a pretty easy fold.

Yeah the J9s is definitely a call. You block T9 and what value hand does he have that he checks flop and doesn’t raise the turn? I for sure would've put him on diamonds. Plus you're getting like 2 to 1 on a call and this is like the best hand you will show up with on this line.
@ccox2823

the J9 is a clear call with those stack sizes, probably start considering folding if he was deeper.
@itiswhatitis...9648

just the way he played that hand its a clear call, but yes even clearer with those stack sizes. IMO she shouldn't have checked the river...a blocker bet half his stack would of prevented most players from bluffing there especially b/c you bet the turn and he called. AK was what he was supposed to have and may have even called a blocker bet and you would have gotten more value.

8:37 "We're not beating much, but I call because of the price I'm getting." "Would you buy expired milk for 75% off?" -Carlos Welch. It's a nice price, but nowhere near the price you need to get if you're behind, which you pretty much always are. Fold and next case. I know zip-point-squat about tournaments, maybe you're supposed to call in a tournament. In a cash game, the next bet will be bigger, and you can just save your money by folding the turn. At least you found the fold on the river :-)

Hey stumbled on this vlog as it was suggested by KZbin. For the J9s hand, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this in previous comments but you should just be folding to the 3bet by the short stack preflop. J9s doesn't really play great vs a short stacked 3b range especially from oop. As played, river should be a call as the price is too good with top pair. Very unlikely villain has AJ or better here as you would have heard something on the flop or faced a jam on the river. You almost always have the best hand here. Even a weird T9s will likely bet the open ender on the flop. Well done! I wish you much success going forward!

Though with top pair, I would have bet all 3 chances though small. If he raised ? He only had a few hundred left. And he was on tilt. The first thing you said was he just lost set over set.

First vid ever here for me.I just subbed as well.Dont know anything about u but u seem knowlegable and very likable.A couple of hands to comment on are the AK call vs the guys limp Q9 for turn 2 pair...the board was pretty bad and vs 2 opponents I dont think u can beat much so a fold woulda been better, the J9 fold when the guy had A3o is perfectly fine on this board and the way it was played obv u not having any info on him at the time and the AQc that u checked on river u need to lead out there since it was checked out around on the turn by all 3 of u..as a thin value or a blocker but mostly as thin.Anyway GG n GL Keep up the work
