I visited Bellagio a week after this video was made. We stayed on the other side of the lake and went to Bellagio by boat for a tour and some shopping. So many wonderful shops on the steep steps all over the down town area. Would love to go back and just spend time there. Thank you for the video.

I love all of the Prowalk videos. They let me dream about places I’d like to see and then plan for the ones I can get to. The camera work is splendid and Isaac has a great eye for composition. I appreciate the difficulty he had with the logistics of this trip and I’d like to suggest an alternative. Instead of using a town on the west side of the lake as a base, I’d suggest using Varenna on the east side instead. Arrival by train is easy and they run frequently up and down servicing the east side communities. The west side towns can be reached by boat from Varenna making buses unnecessary. For me a car would have just been in the way.

Yeah, it was a bit much that day. I didn't have my ebike with me so I just had to walk around and explore. ...but if I'm not filling my day with exploring or filming...I'm just out on a "vacation" there without my family...so I try to keep working all day long.

It sounds like you got several steps in during your adventure right before you filmed this video! You must have slept well that evening. My wife and I stayed in Varena in 2015 an loved it very much. It was smaller, quieter and less pretentious than Bellagio which suit us fine. Enjoy all your videos..please keep them coming!

P.S.--did you have some issues with your video equipment...the focus was off in several places.

Hey, glad you enjoyed the tour. Yeah, the focus issue is one I haven't quiet figured out yet. The Gopro is in focus 100% of the time which is why I never wanted to switch to a mirrorless camera but I figured the increase picture quality might be worth the focus issue. I had it on a wide area focus but I think it would have been better to have it on center focus.

I wish YT had Smell-O-Vision, it must smell delicious there, everywhere you turn another wee eatery. I've been to Italy twice, Sicily around Enna where my step-mom's parents are from, the main thing I noticed between there and Canada/USA is that over here people usually eat 3 pretty large meals daily while over there they eat like 6,7,8 small meals throughout the day and Italians are so much healthier overall. I'm somewhere in the middle, I snack 4 or maybe 5 times a day, breakfast is yogurt & trail mix with THC Positivi-Tea and a wake n bake, but dinner is usually pretty big, pasta & sauce, meat dish, salad and desert. My granny Brienza taught me to cook authentic Italian too.

I know the Italians like a big dinner that's for sure....one that takes a couple hours to get through. I'm too impatient. I like to eat and keep moving. :)

@@ProWalks My Granny Brienza had a lot of big family dinners, even catered all the family weddings and stuff, I spent many, many hours as her kitchen assistant growing up, she took dinner seriously. Every other meal was small, bagels and cappuccino for breakfast, leftovers reheated etc., always had sweets, gelato, sorbet, Tiramisu, snacks of all sorts, but dinner was as serious as a heart attack. At least 5 courses, entrees included noodles soaked in dry red wine with just butter and Parmigiana on them, delicious!

@@ProWalks Granny Brienza took dinner so seriously she couldn't be bothered with other meals, on many occasions we'd be cooking something my uncle or Grampy Brienza would ask "Could you make me a sandwich?" or something she'd get huffy "Make your own damn lunch, I'm getting dinner ready." LOL! But they had thick Italian accents.

I have a question about the date. The hardcoded titles (at 0:20) say this was filmed Friday July 8th 2022. However, the description says "Saturday July 9th, 2022". Do you remember which day it was? Did you film this before or after the Bellagio day walk?

After the ferry stops running in the evening are there water taxis to go from bellagio to varenna or menaggio?

The last ferry from Bellagio to Varenna is at 11pm, Menaggio at 7:45 pm, and Cadenabbia at 11:40 pm. I don't if water taxis run that late, but I would think anything can arranged if planed in advance.
