Master the Art of Furniture Decoupage with Expert Tips

Have you tried ironing your decoupage? You put Mod Podge or your top coat on your piece first. Two coats and let it completely dry. You put the paper on top of the dried glue and cover with parchment and activate the adhesion with the iron. I was taught the ironing technique as a kid and you get no wrinkles!!!!

I am working on my very first decoupage project and I’m procrastinating starting the actual decoupage portion because I’m so nervous about the blending. I watched the whole video. It is great! You do an excellent job of teaching. And your blending skills make it a look so easy. My only concern is that we barely get to admire & see the final results at the end because You Tube pops up the next few videos that could overlap on top of your project so that we can’t really observe your beautiful work in its totality. I was gonna crack wise about how you could use the colors around your eye and some eyeshadows in a blending technique, but thought that was probably not in good taste ... 😊 I speak from experience, mine was quite the rainbow! I finally found a suitable dresser that is the appropriate scale for the decoupage image. Now I just need to strip, sand and paint the piece to get started. My question is: what kind of drawer pulls did you use? How did you go about placing them so that the image wasn't compromised by the pulls? This will be my first time doing a project like this. Did you not go back and remove your Salt wash underneath? Or did you just kind of allow it to fall as you painted? Beautiful mottled blend! Your red, orange and yellow mottled piece qith the moulds was the first I had seen with that technique and I remember absolutely swooning over it 😘😘😘 It's my favorite way to blend now!
