Quote from New Life newsletter: Your Real Priorities For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:34 It is easy to see what your priorities are. Just take a look around. You have made the choices which have brought you to exactly where you are right now. Those choices have been based on your true priorities. Though you may claim to follow other priorities, the ones which truly guide your actions are the ones which are evidenced by the life you’ve created for yourself. The results you get are based on the choices you make, and those choices are guided by your priorities. Take a look around. What are your priorities? Where have they led you? Should you continue with those same priorities or is it perhaps time for a change? The way to change your priorities is to continually remind yourself of their power. Your priorities determine the actions you take, and those actions determine the course of your life. Look at the results your priorities have produced and adjust those priorities as necessary to keep you moving forward toward the life you desire. Father in heaven, this is a hard reminder to do a self-inventory, to check our “checkbook”, to see if we are truly making the things we claim are priorities, a priority. Help us to be people of our word, to actually be in Your house, not just claim it’s our priority, to love our families practically instead of just in words. In Jesus name, AMEN! To change your life, you need to change your priorities.

If anyone is on the fence about a 590 get one. 30 inch tree fall in my front yard a couple weeks back. Me and a friend bucked about 40 feet of a 30 inch log with a 590 with a 24 inch bar with absolutely no problems. Sharp chain and the saw did all the work. Very powerful in wood.

Quote from New Life newsletter: Your Words Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable and pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, immovable] rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14 Sometimes a simple change in wording can make a world of difference. Consider the word “but.” Sticking a “but” on the end of your stated intentions effectively cancels them out. Think of the times you’ve heard yourself saying things such as “I need to get in better shape, but I can’t find the time to exercise." Rather than “but” consider what would happen if you substituted “because.” “I need to get in better shape because it will give me much more energy.” Add even more power with the word “so.” “I need to get in better shape because it will give me much more energy, so I will re-arrange my schedule to provide time for a regular work-out.” Notice how the use of those two simple words, because and so, can compel you to change your whole outlook on the situation, to go from making excuses to making positive progress. When talking to yourself or to others, the words you choose to use can make an enormous difference. Look for ways to make your language more consistently positive, and your attitude will follow suit. It will have a positive effect on your actions and ultimately on the quality of results you achieve. Father in heaven, today we are learning to change our words and our outlook. We ask for Your help to choose to make progress, instead of just making excuses. Help us to understand why we are doing what we are doing, keeping the goal in mind, instead of the problems. In Jesus name, AMEN! If you desire to achieve your goals and dreams, you must take “but” out of your vocabulary.

Quote from New Life newsletter: What’s the Harm? But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. James 1:14-15 If you find yourself planning to do something “just this once” watch out. It means you’re about to compromise your own values. Whatever it is, you already know it’s wrong. When you have to use “just this once” to justify your action, that’s a very good reason to avoid the action altogether. "Just this once” has a way of quickly turning into “I got away with it before, so I can do it again.” You’ll find yourself on a slippery slope, sliding ever downward into a hole of despair and regret. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that “just this once” will bring you anything of value. You already know it won’t. When you find yourself saying “just this once” stop it in its tracks by saying “I’ll continue to be strong." "Just this once” is the tiny tip of an enormous wedge of compromise which can quickly drive your best interests far away from you. Refuse to let it get a foothold. Be strong in the little things and you’ll be successful in the big things. Father in heaven, today we are learning how dangerous these three little words can be. When we are tempted to use them to justify doing something we know we shouldn’t, remind us of this verse and help us to walk away. Guide us to walk in paths of righteousness and be children of the light! In Jesus name, AMEN! The safest road to hell is the gradual one. The gentle slope without milestones or signposts.

Quote from New Life newsletter: Where’s the Finish Line? Therefore, I do not run without a definite goal; I do not flail around like one beating the air [just shadow boxing]. 1 Corinthians 9:26 Imagine how completely frustrating and confusing it would be to run a race in which there was no clearly defined finish line. How would you know which direction to run? How would you keep from wasting your efforts? How would you find the drive and motivation to go forward, if you didn’t even know where forward was? With no finish line, not only would you not know where you were going, you’d also have no way of knowing how to get there. To run the race, you must know where the finish line is and you must follow a course that will get you to that point. The same is true for any accomplishment. It’s crucial to know exactly where you are going and to determine the precise course of action which will get you there. A vaguely conceived finish line can never be crossed. Do your efforts today have a clearly defined finish line? Are your efforts moving you along the course which will reach that goal? Or are you just running around in circles? The only way you can win the race is by knowing exactly where to run. Father in heaven, it’s been said that if we aim at nothing, we will hit it every time. We ask for You to direct our aim, guide us in the right goals so we don’t spend our time merely shadow boxing, but moving towards becoming who You want us to be! In Jesus name, AMEN! Failure isn’t in not reaching your goal but in having no goal to reach.

Quote from New Life newsletter: Avoid the Crowd And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. Romans 12:2 What’s wrong is never made right just because everyone is doing it. A bad idea is not made better just because a lot of people agree with it. We place a great deal of value on what others do and think, and even more value on what large numbers of others do and think. Yet everyone is capable of being mistaken, even in large numbers. Everyone is capable of being wrong, on a daily basis. Following the crowd may be comforting, but it is no guarantee of success. By all means, stay in touch with what the rest of the world is doing. There are a lot of great ideas out there. If something is popular, it probably has merit. At the same time, think for yourself. You have a wonderfully powerful mind. Make use of it. Take it all in and make your own decisions. Father in heaven, we know that those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it. It’s difficult to avoid the pull of the current and tempting to just go with the flow. We ask for Your help to be people who stand up and stand out in a sit down world! In Jesus name, AMEN! Don’t follow the crowd, let the crowd follow you.

Quote from New Life newsletter: Worry Free Peace, I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.] John 14:27 Wouldn’t it be great to have a day without worries? Just imagine how creative, productive and effective you could be if you were not plagued with constant, nagging worries. The fact is, you can have a day without worries every day. Worry is not a foregone conclusion; it is simply one of many ways in which you can choose to respond to your circumstances. The thing about worry is, it exacts a heavy price, but it doesn’t accomplish anything. And it is completely unnecessary. Certainly, there are things that will make you concerned. Certainly, you must be adequately prepared for the reality of your situation. Yet there is never any use in worrying. When you catch yourself starting to worry, stop. Quickly switch your energy to something else. Make plans, consider the possibilities, take action, and leave your worries behind. It will make an enormous positive difference. Father in heaven, if we’re honest, we all struggle with this subject of worry. We worry about a great many things, but worry has never done any good. Fill our hearts and minds with peace today, help us to trust You with our every tomorrow, knowing You already know about it. Help us when we are tempted to worry to choose to worship instead. In Jesus name, AMEN! A day of worry is more exhausting than a week of work.
