I’m a white, straight cis woman and I live in Poland where a lot of these topics are pretty “taboo”. Because of that I want to educate myself as much as possible, I want to have more understanding towards lgbtq+ community. I don’t want to be ignorant just because “I’m not the part of this community”, I don’t want to distance myself bc we’re all people, we’re all in the same level and we all try to navigate life and relationships. This book sounds amazing, not only bc the author discusses queer people’s experiences. It sounds like she talks about love but not in a typical, boring way. I don’t really like to read romance genre but I really needed a book that describes relationships and love in a deep and complex way. Thank you for an amazing video, now I’m off to search the internet and buy this book♥️

This sounds so fascinating for so many reasons. Being trans, but ace, made me realise that I sort of skipped that extra layer of orientation realignment when I came out, so this would be a valuable read for me. Thanks for another great review!

Bellies is on order at my public library. Because of this video, I've placed a hold. I'm 11th in line for 183 copies ordered. (I love my library.)

Of course over here this book doesn't come out till the first of August. Pre-ordered because your review made it sound really interesting to this cis gendered gay man. Plus I love to support queer writers.

Fellow health anxiety gal here - sooo looking forward to reading a book with some good representation on anxiety and on this type of anxiety in particular. Definitely moving Bellies to the top of my TBR

Thank you for this review.I am already searching for this book. Thank you also for mentioning how you related to this book. Why is the book called bellies...do you know?

I’m honestly not sure! It’s also the name of the first chapter, and that’s because of the physical closeness of the characters when they first get together. It’s a curious title!

I actually got to one of Kevvie's recommendations for #Transgirlapril " By way of sorrow". It's a legal thriller about but at the same time it gives an insight into transition as two of the principle characters are both transwomonen. It's effective as a crime novel too, I will have to definitely get two other books of thsis series.

Oh that sounds amazing! Trust Kevvie to have excellent taste

hi, i know it’s none of my bee’s wax, and i hope you won’t tell me to “ buzz off” But i have found myself caring, and a bit curious, I do find you interesting to listen to, therefore, making the way to care. I was wondering , are you with Jess still? Not meant for any other reason, but , for which was stated. 🫶

Fair question! Jess and I are no longer a couple, but we are still best friends and we still run the Books and Bao site together. They now live in LA with their partner and I live in London with mine :)
