We have a Regal 28 Express with the same set-up. After last season we had the same gear oil leak, failed seal. Looking at tackling the bellows next spring, did one on a Mercruiser but never VP.

I plan to do the bellows when they need it (2'ish more years). I did purchase the 'Workshop Manual' for the drive, and replacing them looks pretty straightforward. Good luck!
