@Read1526 Because I think it is appalling. It sounds horrendously out of tune and has a nice sour note after the strikenote. I've heard far better Gillett bells than these, such as Heywood and Stand (which are the same era). Just because you have good striking does not mean that a crap peal of bells will become good. I think the phrase a friend used to say was "You can't polish a ...."
