Pleasure, Colin, as was definitely worth a huge tick. The purpose of a video like that, IMO, is to show people exactly what Winki is like which you succeeded in doing. I forgot the piece at the start where you pan right down the line, showing people how long a ride is possible at this place, and just a great opening scene to start the video with. If this is just a hobby, you've a definite feel for this. No need to thank me. The video says it all...

Great video Colin. Just fantastic. It looks professionally done. I just loved the touch at the end with the kayaks/ski's, then the little bird on the twigs. Easily the best privately done (something tells me this is more than just a hobby for you, tho) surf video I've seen.

Excuse me while i get my head out of the clouds, what a rap, you are obviously someone who loves their surfing and the feeling it gives you, i dont surf myself, but i understand that same feeling just as much. This is definately just a hobby my wife and i took up, when we became "empty nesters" a few years ago. Thank you for your wonderful comment.

Still on Winki's quality, I used to go to the G.C. 4 weeks a year for many years pre sand pumping, and when it was good it was majestic, (with it's warm and beautifully colored water), but that happened 6 times in 32 weeks (7 if you count the day I left one year). Too small and not off shore enough, and I went all times of the year. I found the underrated Greenmount my favorite with it's ambience, Burliegh the easiest to get shacked and pre S.pumping Kirra the all time best East Coast wave.

Winki is fantastic wave, but also a powerful fuckwit magnet. Hate to see what Bird Rock is like these days....

I genuinely think that Winki is the best wave in Aust., all things considered. Big call, I know, but for (pluses) general consistency,= amount of off shore breezes it gets p/year, swell consistency, length of ride (massive), works on all tides (a tad fat at high tide but still fine), works at any size (4'-12/15' plus) and ability to take large crowds well. Minuses, are only cold winter water as it's only drawback (if you take that aspect of surfing seriously which I have to due to my health).
