Thank you for your kind words . I have looked at those tools and parts over the years and wondered what to do with them . This was so perfect , I loved watching Shane splice his belt and I knew then I had found a deserving home for those parts . I had the almost exact setup as yours , mine was Better Built from Salt Lake , Utah . We called the seed duster the cannon . Looking forward to watching the process from my easy chair . True statement as it is easy to recognize , you are hard working people . I used to operate a Bobcat with their version of a Fecon rotary drum forest masticator . I was dealing with overgrowth of Lodge pole pine . Great tool . Front door 1/2 inch lexan . Anyway You made my evening , keep up the good work and another awesome video . I wished you were not clear across the country , I have 2 16 ft Logan SUB beds that I am sure you could use .

Your farm set-up seems to have (to me) very few people working there. I suppose that's why you have so many machines. In S.Africa they probably use more manual labour. Not sure what it's like on the big potato farms. So glad I found this channel: thanks.

Absolutely fascinating, from the multi-use of buildings (moving equipment in and out) to the specialized equipment for seed cutting (I wonder how the first generation did the work?), to the use of the mulcher to keep down the encroachment. I remember using hand loppers and a chain saw and how lucky we felt with the advent of a brush saw!

This is a most impressive operation. I had no idea what potato farming involved. Your financial cost for building and equipment must be enormous. And I thought a hay barn was expensive and s small one at that. And like all farmer you have to work around weather and it never seems to be in step with the crop timing and the farmer timing and than there the inevitable equipment break down when everything seems to be going quite well. Farming is just not for everyone. Thank you for sharing how all this works. For what potatoes cost in the retail stores this type of farming has to produce a lot of tonnage at harvest or your margins could be very low. I assume that harvesting is very time sensitive as to when the potatoes could go bad.

Hey Molly & Shane I really enjoy watching forestry mulching it’s very gratifying see all the overgrowth disappear and an area get turned into usable land. I’ve seen one of those on a John Deer skid steer that had high flow capacity and that thing was scary, just could not be with three to four hundred feet. The only thing I think they lack is you can’t grind up the root system oh whatever you cut down, especially on those Alder trees they’re eventually going to grow back. I almost wanna take an excavator after I’ve done mulching and dig up all those roots systems. I think in the long run the time that it would save not having to go back again and again. 🤷🏻♂️ Hmm…then again what would you do with all those root balls!?Ah man it never ends! 🤣

I have an Instagram account. I’m not sure if you have that. But I think you can post pictures on KZbin too. I will try and figure that out!

I hope you can do it on KZbin because I don't have an Instagram account. I think it would be a good idea for your subscribers to see it.😀
