My last delve experience was watching a 598 tank get 2 shot will Brann ran into a wall. We then proceeded to try to stay awake while battering down HP bars that put heroic raid bosses to shame. For the potential of a 616 AFTER next reset... I am struggling to make my brain think any of that was fun. For even a second.

My problems with delves are: 1) The powers you pick up feel worthless 2)Playing as a mage, i just have to hope I can burn the mobs down before they get to me. Most of my CC is worthless on bosses. 3)Brann feels either amazing or useless, no in-between. 4)The delves feel either terrible or okay, again no real in-between feeling.

I literally stopped playing Cata as a healer because of the heroics on general but that fight was one of the worst offenders. Instant death mechanics in heroics after WotLK heroics was nuts. The worst part is healers got all the hate. I just rage quit. After saying I cannot heal you through instant dealth x number of times I was done.

Here's my issue... delves are supposed to be able to be beaten alone. But higher tiers are impossible without a group. They are essentially smaller dungeons. Plus Bran just be doing his own thing sometimes. Haha

A lot of people are really glossing over the ilvl recommendation on these delves too. Its recommended 625 for a t10 delve and most people are around 600 right now, thats an enormous gap.

Blizzard makes solo content. Sweats come in to farm gear. Blizzard freaks out " We MuST MAKe it HArdEr!" Blizzard pushes an untested patch. Breaks there new content. Blizzard nerfs more stuff. Players: "This isnt fun anymore" Sweats: "LOLZ Got my gear. see yah noobs." Delves arent played by anyone. People quit the game. Blizzard next expac: "Here is a new feature for solo content, we promise to get it right this time."

more like people figured out 3 people is three times the dps and three times the targets, so they just treated the solo content like it was Heroic Scenarios from MoP. Blizzard freaked, and pulled the difficulty rip cord. All for some 616 gear. this whole thing could have been avoided if they didnt try to shoehorn group play into a solo experience, when you try to please everyone, you please no one. solo content should have been simply solo content and balanced around you being in there with Brann.

The delve sets are the best looking sets in the game right now and it could have just been cosmetic, achievements and titles. It could have been fun, challenging and engaging content with rewards that let you show off after, but once you put ilvl rewards behind it people are going to go hard and it fucks it all up

For me the biggest problem with delves is that everything hits as if you're a tank. Even though you play a healer/dps. This would be okay if CC works on the bosses at the end of the delve but it doesn't so I have to run for my life because standard melee hits can kill you.

Can do 8's on my ret solo and they're challenging. Bring it up to 9 and run into identical pack and I get deleted, that character is ilvl 600. Doing 7's, solo, on my ilvl 588 Arcane Mage alt, that's some Guantanamo Bay torture shit... (I did two before I needed a mental health break)

just like proving grounds, some classes are just more equipped for certain challenges when you try to one size fits all the content, you get one class melting face with others getting their faces melted. I thought Blizzard learned their lesson in legion with the mage tower when they limited some bosses to certain classes, and gave everyone a bit more of a unique experience. Guess they learned and unlearned it just as quickly.

You don't understand. They do have QA. It is the players who pay a subscription fee. All that blizzard has done is move around what label they slap on what. So they used to have a game in genuine beta condition, and they would let some people beta test the game. They called it a beta test, and rightly so. Then they would fix up the game in light of beta feedback, and release a release candidate build that worked and had some but few bugs. They still do that process, but they have moved what gets labeled as what, without telling us that's what they have done. But it's visible if you look and pay attention. What used to be called alpha is now called beta, and what used to be called beta is now called live release. I hope this makes sense. And the funny thing is Blizzard wins the most out of anyone in this situation. The result of how they have changed all of this is that they don't have to have QA staff anymore. Because by switching the labels they use without telling the players, they have managed to convince the entire wow playerbase to pay them money to beta test their game, and all they ever had to change was that they now just call "beta" the "live game."

I love delves so far. At an approx. 580 ilvl I am able to complete up to lvl 7 alone, though i did die once to last boss because I wasn't familiar with his attacks. I am hopeful that with more/ better gear I will be able to go higher alone.

It's challenging and you need to learn how to think fast in fights (at least I had to). Finishes Lvl 8 Delve with my 591 Frost Mage just because of CC, Blinking and protecting abilities... and maaaybe a bit of cheesing with bosses not being able to follow me down a small cliff but staying at their health and in fight... but yes, I lost about 4 out of 6 lives 🤡

Being bad at a game is not the end of the world , if you cannot do delves 8 chances are that you are not an A+ player, but that's completely fine though, you have 7 difficulties to learn and get used to before going into tier 8. Take it easy !

Right there with you. The first 3 levels were cakewalks even with campaign gear. I'm at 587 now and can barely get the boss down in a level 5 delve. It's not because I'm a bad player. Tell me how I can get past the rest of the delve with no deaths and then can't get the boss below 70% because I have to keep running from it to avoid rush and AOE and bomb mechanics and can't cast a freaking spell. Delve repairs are the REAL gold sink in this expansion!

To be fair, I think 8s are roughly same difficulty as first 3-4 bosses of heroic raid. As for earning the gear, I remember +16 keys in one of the DF seasons giving you aspect crests and Mythic raid gear in vault, which felt very free compared to mythic raid. So far I'm really enjoying the delves, hop on solo and get some good gear, grab 1 friend, 2 friends, dont have to wait in group finder, for someone who may troll the group, its been all active gaming and no menu waiting, which I think is a big win, the tuning will come.

Here's my take on the delves. Right now I'm 604, and tier 8's are easy aside from Waterworks. When I first started doing delves I was 580, and tier 8's then were VERY hard. People doing delves way above their current item level ( 8, 9, 10 ) cannot complain they can't solo them or have a tough time doing them if they're "undergeared" to do them. Bran does suck most of the time. I've had him run around pulling like 1/4 of the dungeon and has gotten me killed on more than one occasion. Either he's doing insane damage or he's useless, there hasn't been a good middle ground yet. The biggest issue is that up to +7 you're still getting 554's, you CANNOT naturally progress through delves by only doing delves which entire defeats the purpose IMO. There's no progression, and everyone wants the +8's for the max reward. There's issues with scaling, mechanics, Bran, and difficulty overall. Honestly I'm just tired of things getting released and still feeling like we're in a beta phase.

It depends on your class, too. Some bosses and mini-bosses autoattack for MILLIONS of damage, so classes that can't heal-on-demand or kite while putting out full DPS (Demon Hunter, for example) can't do some of the Delves because you hit That One Boss that's literally impossible for your spec to take down. It's nonsense. Dying if you fail mechanics? Totally reasonable. Dying because bosses are chunking you for 50% of your health with *unavoidable autoattacks* or *uninterruptable, un-out-range-able AoEs* (or both!) is broken, untested nonsense.

I don't understand people comments about other people lack of skills and... Playing for many years I understood what this game is complicated as potato 🥔 Most of stuff depends on gear and stats (and also spec) Delves currently are handable depending on Class/Spec which you choose - For easiest classes in my opinion which are Paladin (Protection, Retribution), DK (Blood), Druid (Bear) 🐻, Hunter (Beasts), Sorc (Pets) - (Well this classes was the easies ones) For all other specs who doesn't have decent heal armor or pets (To use them as tank) it is not soloble on higher difficulties, easy as that

If you don't have solid heals on demand, at least 2 good Defensives, and a 15-second CD Interrupt, you need not apply. +7/8 is going to chew you up and spit you out at some point (usually a mini-boss or the final boss).

If group play becomes the baseline difficulty for these then delves are a failure...and they are* hard if you do them solo. People who M+ and raid are going to want mythic gear anyway and wont do these after heroic week, just leave these alone. They do no need to be hard unless they are easy SOLO.

My two buddies and I were playing delves. I was having the biggest damn blast playing delves with them. Three dps, mage dh and dk. Screaming and laughing while mushrooms yeeting us around. I loved it. The next one? We went sprinting in and the first packs took two waves of cool downs to take down. I was getting two shot. It stopped being fun and became a bullet sponge boring slog.

Since I've been playing Ret I've had minimal issues with getting to T8. But there is a massive jump in scaling right there as well as the mechanics ramp up. At that point you have to try to outheal one of two interrupts in certain fights. Healer brann gets required quic

Was fine solo at tier 8 except for waxface on a frost mage and I'm not particularly great. Did some solo 8s on my hunter, lock and dk too. Hope they start letting advanced crests drop in the 9+ delves to make them worth doing. Maybe clearing all 4 bountiful delves at 9+ would give you enough to upgrade a piece to give a sane sense of progression.

As someone that already solo a Delve lvl 10: my biggest problem is they should scale the rewards for the last 2 levels (10--11). Legit no one are going to do that the entire expansion, i mean, they will probably do 1-2x and then sit at 8s for weekly vault and chests. The difficult is REAL. That being said, Delves are still a big win from Blizzard and it really is a fun experience, it brought a fresh air to the game. Just need to be tunned, few adjustment and we chill.

Lol T8+ delves feel a lot like Mage Tower lite. 😂😂😅 That said, as a G-Druid, I've managed to beat several of them with lives left and now I'm sitting around ilvl 598. I did my first T8 at 575 though. And it REALLY felt like a mage tower lite at that point lol.. Can't wait to see how this pans out. Delves are one of the best things to come to WoW imho. Amazing paths for the solo player such as myself. A few touch ups and we're golden.

Then in other fights, I absolutely needed him on dps. I genuinely can't say which side is a must but dps dps for mobs seem to be the way to go as he burns them down fairly well when he works.

I will say, on my affliction/demo warlock I've had little problem. Though my voidwalker tends to be a better tank than my felguard. When I first started Tier 8 I was like 578 or so. I've done eight delves (to get all three vaults at 616) and with each item aquired it has gotten to be less of a slog. That said. ... I'm not sure I could do that with my shadow priest or my mage. I have been hit several times and suddenly have my health go down to 30% or so. That's with Soul Leech fully charged. A mage or a shadow priest would be dead meat.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from this video I mostly get that the real reward of delve is this one random vault drop. In that case why we waste time on bountiful delves, just do 2 random tier 8 delves, and boom. Progress for the week is done, now we wait for reset. I always looked at this that the real reward is chest at the end of delve, and vault slot is a nice bonus.

never mind the fact that the Bountiful Delve loot table is ALSO screwed up and hands out Cloaks 75% of the time and Rings/Necks/Trinkets the other 25%. Want actual body armor? Too bad, I guess. Delve treasure room rewards do NOT match the insane work it takes to slog through them with the current numbers/tuning, it's all about that Vault slot.

I know it's not the same for every spec you can't expect that week 1. I was able to solo all my +8 delves i didn't start using keys until I was at 8 and only wearing 585 gear. It needs to be solved and pulled like a puzzle not a faceroll Heroic. I used to raid a lot years ago so that helps but you can absolutely beat an 8 under 600ilvl

You do get heroic loot pretty easy BUT don't forget you only get 1 heroic piece a week from the vault through delves. So yeah it is pretty easy loot but it will also take a while before you are fully heroic geared through delves/vault. Would have been a different story if you would get heroic gear at the end of each T8 delve.

I miss when BC heroics released, and one of the easiest normal dungeons was one of the hardest heroics, and you HAD to have a proper kill order with CC unless the Tank was in good raid gear, at which point you could get away with just the kill order.

@Bellular I believe that you are not including the bigger picture about Delvs and Mythics... Gear is not the goal. The goal has always been getting into the Raid and killing a Boss. Mythic came out, and people love it's independent enjoyment, but it was just another way to get Raidgear. This allowed more casual or time restricted players to gear for Raid-night. Now Delvs can be added to the list of gearing methods for more casual players (the majority). Making good Raids and Raid-rewards is the goal.😅

this explains why the web sometimes died and sometimes didnt... i used brann as healer while soloing zekvir, i had 1 interrupt per his dot skill and had to kill the mob or he would stun me and i would die to something. i used stone elemental twice, storm elemental 4 times. thats how long it took.

solod a t8 delve, and after killing 3 packs, i was reading the guild discord, went back ingame and brann was pacing back and forth teleporting all over the place, attacking mobs on his own, half the instance aggroed to me while i was in a hallway with no mobs around. i tried the ? delve, he wasnt pulling his own weight in helping, gets stuck in the fear or just standing there idle - switched to healing, he was alright.. but upto a point.. he flat out stopped throwing his heal pots,buffs,etc and watched me die XD before blizz started to try and fix the delves - bran was actually doing pretty good, high dps,great healing, ai pathing was perfect, wasnt pulling random shit or anything.. since this patch.. its been horrendous..

it really depends. I'm a BM hunter and I got up to T8 pretty quick. My ilvl is 571. Well below what I'm supposed to be. Some delves are super easy and others are almost impossible for me. BM is one of the best solo classes so I'm not mad that it's a bit easy for me. Other classes are having a much harder time. I would rather it be easier for me, than to hard for them...

The fun part is you dont need a key to run a bountiful delve, just to open the big chest at the end. So even if you dont have any keys left, you can still level Brann and have a chance at getting maps from the smaller chests at the end. So grind to your hearts content lol

As a 592 outlaw rogue, it took over an hour to clear Earthcrawler because the Threadmancers can shoot you from as far back as Pandaria for 1M a pop and Brann decides to AFK and have a snack with his Devilsaur. All of the "fixes" the've release over the last few days have done nothing to address Brann's crappy AI and the trash mobs huge damage scaling.

idk I’m a frost dk and I did all my bountiful delves on tier 8 at 593 solo this week. I haven’t tried tier 9, but tier 8’s take me about 20 minutes and feel like very fair challenges.

Now that delves seem to be leveling out, I'm actually really starting to like them and feel like I'm understanding the design concept a bit better. From the way they seem to be performing now (21Sep2024), it feels like the design goal is to give a solo gearing option that is tuned for progression for those not doing grouped content. 5-6 coffer keys per week seems to be what I'm hearing for the average player. [If wrong, tell me where to get more, lol]. So, we're looking at 16 gear slots, or 6 pieces of 603 gear per week, which is on par with raid boss gear. It feels like the exact design decision was to give Normal Raid level gear without resorting to PuGs. In addition, with how the delves work and how much skill can really let you way overpower your suggested ilvl, they should slowly teach you to really learn your class abilities in a fun way. (delves suggest 600+ before you run t8, but most medium skill players seem to be able to do-but-strugle at 580ish). Based on that, delves seem to be doing GREAT, though they had a stupid-easy level-up curve that made them seem way too easy to many, which means a lot of people missed that skill-leveling experience.

Delves were bugged, but they were fun. Blizzard "fixed" them, but now they're not fun. What matters more? That the game is working as intended, or that the game is fun? Because if those two things do not line up, then we have a problem. Soloing T11 delves was some of the most fun content I've ever done in wow. It was fun because I didn't have to worry about dps, bran was the man, and I could focus on keeping agro and utilising my survival kit as best I could. I learnt more about my new main playing Delves than I have running dungeons because there really isn't anyone else to blame but myself, and I had to get good like I was in a Dark Souls game. However, now that Bran does virtually no damage, I have to tank packs for 10 times longer, and wait for every single ones of my cooldowns to return between each packs, and that's like 2-3 mobs at a time, let alone mini bosses which are just a reset most of the time unless I can skip them... This is not fun, particularly since we can easily compare to how it was before. Was the reward structure completely out of whack? Yes. Do we even still need to go do Normal Raids? Complete waste of time. But this is an opportunity to learn, and alter future design and rewards, not completely gut one of the most fun system they've introduced in an expansion since forever. This is beginning to look like Torgast all over again. It was great, we loved it, then they F***** it up just because they have some "grand design" plans like they always do, and fun wasn't being factored into the equation. I do not care for the balance, I wand Delves the way they were, back when Bran was the man, and T11 was fun, challenging, but fair. I DO NOT care what ilvl Blizz feels we need to be to complete it, I just want that feeling back, I was having fun in wow for crying out loud, why do they need to take that away?

Candles and totems are disappearing on picking them up. Sometimes. Getting wiped by the delves is a skill issue to - at least in my case. x) I die through level 8 at least for the weekly loot. Need probably better gear. ^^

Tried a Delve this morning before maintenance. Lvl 7, the first mob (a single spider) one shot my pet, teleported me into the air and i died from a shadow bolt spam before i even hit the ground. Something is def wrong haha

The funny part? It all doesn't matter as of tonight's latest hotfixes (since this is from Friday). Blasted through three T8 Delves, on different characters that are all below ilevel 600, without much more than a single "oh crap" moment. If you think Brann should be soloing/doing more damage: No, that is wrong. He was only doing that due to a BUG. If you think Brann should be your tank: No, that is not a role he has. He only tanked because he out-threated you, due to a BUG. Does more balancing work need to happen, to get things to the right balance for all classes and specs? Yes. Entirely. But it is better, as long as you look at it from the right perspective: Brann is not there to carry you. Delves were the least-tested endgame content, due to the fact you COULD NOT TEST THEM ON THE PREMADE BETA SERVER! As they are directly part of the open world, you could not test them without leveling a character on the main Beta servers. And that was not what most people with Beta access did. The premade server effectively had no open world. It was Org/SW, and queue'd content/NPCs to put you in Nerub'ar Palace.

I've been running delves and some follower dungeons solo since xpac dropped. I've had a blast doing them solo. I haven't been in a serious guild since LK and have never been a fan of raiding with randos. I mean is that really that much different that AI??? So delves scratch my itch, and follower dungeons do it for me to. Obviously you're not getting geared up uber fast but I'm very fine with it. Tbh I am doing level 6 delves with 587 gear and a BM hunter. Is this a delves issue or some classes are over or under powered? I'm just hoping they don't break delves trying to tune for the sweaty players when it wasn't made for them. They have heroics, mythics, and raids.

Brann has become so weak it's ridiculous. My Brann is 34 and his auto attack is hitting 15k. They posted that it was a bug, letting him benefit from the damage and health scaling of the delve in certain circumstances, but the certain circumstance must have just been my account because he was strong in all the 30+ tier 8 delves I did pre "fix" and not a single one of the 13 I've done post "fix". The fix also seems to have broken Brann's AI completely. There were 100% issues with delves for both solo and groups. Brann was too strong pre fix, way too weak post fix and his AI feels like they cut and pasted it from an 8-bit NES cart.

The problem was never dwelves, the problem is that gear is the only reward structure blizzard knows how to give at end game. They have achivements / mounts / pets yes, but at the end of the day people are after getting their gear to the level they want it to be at (whatever that may be for them). And I'm not saying Delves shouldn't drop gear, in fact, I would be happy if they remained competitive with other gearing methods, but you know what would do a fine job of fixing all this? Making consistent, achievable methods of obtaining gear (ala ffxiv tombstones , etc.) and developing a secondary reward structure to attract people to push even further beyond. Listen people don't like to hear this, but the reason the game was thriving in Panda and WoTLK was because you could login for an hour get some badges, and progress towards getting yourself in fairly competent gear. WIthout the casual player base the game does not thrive, and the casual player base doesn't like sweating.

If you just want to get a few T8 for the iLvl 616 great vault, try Spiral Weaves. None of the mobs there hit as hard as those goblin flamethrowers, and the final bosses mechanics are all pretty slow. I have slow reflexes, new to the class, don’t do endgame and don’t use addons, and my iLvl 545 holy priest and lvl 15 brann can do it consistently. Set him to dps and just pull one at a time. Kite the boss for 10+ mins. It gets really repetitive though

Have quite a few characters, some have done the first Delve easy, but yesterday took a Rogue in first Delve and she died three time in the first section of Delve and I bailed. Oh! was only at Tier 2.

Im a returning player with the reason being the solo content. Im playing SSF as a tailor. For tailoring, duskweave doesnt drop (maybe fixed now but didnt for at least 10 days). Delves are broken. So the whole game is broken for me. Luckily Persona 3 reload aegis was released so playing that until wow is fixed... But pretty big accomplishment managing to break the whole game (for me) during the first week.

I feel like delvs could be a great opportunity to teach players mechanics, rather than "adds hitting harder , more hp etc etc." Instead of harder hitting mobs there should be a random set of heroic level mechanics after 8 that if done wrong can one shot you. And Least the adds can do are fear, root, stun, or dot that your class can dispell if not interrupted. Mobs should barely do any damage of couse if this was the case but if you're not able to kill mobs in a time frame(15secs or more) an enrage should trigger and mobs hit just as hard as they do now.

I genuinely dont have fun doing tier 8s even on my ret. If I use DPS Brann, my HP just drops instantly to near zero so I'm basically just spamming heals on myself. It feels like I'm running a goddamn Mythic key between almost everything one shotting me, taking forever to kill and having a certain amount of allowed deaths before I just get no loot.

Honestly, trying to do Delves with good gear and high degrees of skill is a fundamentally better experience than trying to do delves in WQ gear with moderate skill. They are really going to have to decide which players they tuned Delves for.

This does not seem like something that should have been this hard to get right, the Idea of soloing gear at your own pace sounds amazing, then trying to solo it becomes harder than a mythic dungeon. Also maybe I only played high level delves post update, but that crap was the farthest thing from trivial I have ever experienced, it was a sweaty grind fest the whole way through. I am maining rogue rn too and my Brann's healing was not peak

The issue isn't raw numbers. It never was. The issue is that some delves present a boss/mob variety with mechanics and abilities some classes just don't have the tools to handle, such as unavoiable raw spikedamage. A class with little self healing is doomed and a class with a ton of self healing/strong defensives won't even feel it. Or debuffs that can be dispelled. This just means different classes have VERY different experiences when it comes to delve difficulty, and it isn't because enemy health is too high. It's because you're presented with a problem you might just not have the tools to handle.

I feel ill qualified to comment, honestly. Been doing delves since day 1 solo as a ret paladin and had a great time. Sure 8s are a bit rough with my current gear, but if I take my time, consider deviating feom cookie cutter talent builds and approach the delve slowly and methodically (something I actually enjoy), I am completely fine. Didnt go higher than 8 yet though because I dont think I am strong enough yet, which I also find fine. So I am probably missing a core experience (group play) to commebt on the broader picture.

My 590 BM hunter is getting 1 shot from kobold casters on Tier 5. My pets not able to hold any aggro even with Misdirect on them. The empowerd mobs are actually the easiest to kill!

If Brann was just consistent it would be a lot better. There are times where Brann was holding aggro well if I just wait a few globals before starting to really hit a mob but then other times he is doing nothing and you are on your own basically. I have done as many 8 bountiful delves on my paladin (as ret) as I have had keys for this week and then on the other hand when I do them on my shaman (as ele) it is a real struggle. My ilvl on my shaman is a little behind but not by that much... At least shaman has great interrupts I feel bad for priests lol so many casts just truck you for half your health
