Tony builds the best drums hands down. I own a walnut stave from him, and this video makes me feel good about supporting American artisans. You can't get this quality of service and craftsmanship anywhere else!

Tony, really appreciated your video on a stave built snare. Great attention to detail. Beautiful finished product! The link provided to your web site isn't functional. Are you still building drums? I'm interested in pursuing a custom snare build.

Sorry, wood cutting measure how many degrees of tilt? to be able to form a circle?
@lowfatedes5 жыл бұрын
360 degrees form a circle. Divide that by the number of bevels you cut.

this is amazing, i was wondering about the lathe you used, being a budding drum builder i am finding it hard to find a lathe that has a high enough swing for a drum, any recommendations on how to find an appropriate one, thank you
@hillcountrypercussion949310 жыл бұрын
I was having the same problem! The best thing to do is either find a lathe that has a large enough swing, or get one that has a rotating headstock so you can turn the shell off the side of the lathe!

Very cool! But I'm Russian and I do not understand what you are saying in the video) How do you attach it on the machine that for the device ?? I would be very grateful for the answer!
@thingbreaker51218 жыл бұрын
+Илья Ковзель Not sure if you ever got your answer, but he glues the segments together, waits a week, then glues it to the wooden face plate and waits another week before putting it on the lathe.

@@thingbreaker5121 If he glues the wooden face plate /chuck, how does he get it off without damging the suspension? Cant be a one off?

what is the name of that machine that route the shell slowly to help you to varnish the shell?
@richardpine80118 жыл бұрын
Looking at it I reckon he made it. Basically a board with clamps limked to a motor, clamped to a table.
