This is amazing!!!! I think a lot of times people ship Jere with Belly because he’s easier to understand than conrad. Connie is that complex case. My boyfriend is like him so I understood what was going on with him from the beginning with having not read the books before. They think they can hide it and try to protect everybody. (Especially belly) but he didn’t have to. However, Conrad did what he thought he had to do, because he already knew he was going to lose his mom and he couldn’t lose Belly too

Thank you for sharing that! At the end of the trilogy, I was Team Conrad. People don't understand anticipatory grief. He had anticipatory grief and I think the adaptation did a better job of showing how keeping everything inside/trying to protect others was hurting him...I was going to write more but I don't want to spoil anything for you since you haven't read the books. I think you would enjoy the books since you enjoyed the Prime series; Books 2 and 3 are my favorite.

@@hannahhale2518 SAME. The addition of Cleveland was genius; it allowed us to hear Conrad’s fears. Otherwise, he would have looked like a creep mistreating Belly. If they didn’t show the necklace in the adaptation, Conrad would have looked like he didn’t care about her birthday. Another essential change in the move from books to movie.

This is literally just Belly coming in with high expectations for Conrad at like one of the worst times of Conrad's whole life. Jeremiah and Belly felt like best friends till the end of time or sibling vibes. Although it's not completely unexpected that Jeremiah would develop a crush on belly over time like conrad the Jeremiah liking belly storyline kinda came out of nowhere. With Conrad it just felt different. It felt like they had a deep romantic connection. "Jeremiah treated her better" well of course he did. He wasn't practically pre grieving his mom's death, Conrad was.

something that i like abt their relationship is that it’s through eye contact and tension. they don’t kiss at all until the final scene in the show. and conrad remembers all the little things. (infinity, the muffins etc.) her relation with jere is jere being jealous of her relationship w conrad and it seems like he almost sees it as a competition. her relationship is raw and that’s why i love it sm more.

Exactly. Jere only showed interest in Belly after he saw that Conrad liked her, and through the flashbacks we can see that he didn't give a damn about her, while Conrad always did her bidding. I'm not making light of Corad's actions, he did a lot of shit, but he was also the only one of the teenagers who knew about his mother's illness and it wasn't up to him to say something to others about something private about his mother. The point is that only those who don't really understand Conrad ship Jere and Belly together.

Yes! And I highly suggest doing the audiobook--I read all 3 books in print. Then when the audiobooks came out, I got Books 2 and 3. in Book 3, you hear Chris Briney's voice reading Conrad's parts. Of course, Lola reads Belly's chapters. I think you would enjoy the audiobooks especially now that you/we know what the characters look like.

His whole trust on love people family and relationships jeopardised. He started hating himself too. On that very time he felt strong pull towards Belly. So it was extremely difficult I guess. He needed time to figure out his life and love. anyone in his place would react like this or worse

dont get why Jeremiah was okay with Belly going out with Cam and then the second she's about to kiss Conrad, he's so jealous and he's like" Ive loved you since we were little" Dont get me wrong I love Jeremiahs personality but he was kind of toxic around the time Conrad and Belly were connecting.
