I could watch her all day. Her dvds were among the first "instruction" I ever got when I was starting out. Lots of people seem to like to criticize her, but I think she's among the best. She'll always remain a personal favorite and a source of inspiration.

Ok, let's not get confused here...what Shakira does in her shows and videos are completely different to what these dancers like Jillina are performing. Don't misunderstand, I love Shakira and her music and dancing, but she incorporates "her" style of bellydancing to enhance her dancing act. Dancers like Jillina are "professional dancers" trained for countless hours, perfecting their craft. If they work hard enough and with luck, they can make a living at it. I salute these women AND men who are professional bellydancers!

Yeah what she does in her show has a latin american twist on it but she DOES in fact know how to belly dance! Check out her dancing at the Morocco Mawazine festival, and I'm sure she also trains a lot as well :)

Shakira is the one who's doing it right her mother is from an arabic country jilina is just jumping around belly dancing is about keeping your feet on the ground and wht she've done with her hair at 5:46 07 :05 is called Jdib and it got nothing to do with belly dancing tht's another type of she's just ruining our dance we arabs don't dance like tht no one can do it like us lol

As a non Arabic woman, of non Arabic ethnicity. It is painful to have that come into account when it comes to the dance form. I have spent my whole life training and learning the traditional forms of these dances. Not to steal but to share, not to invade but to carry on these traditions. Because others have passed on the knowledge for centuries it has survived entire cultures. The languages, and cultures of the ORIGINAL dancers are forgotten, their lives dust. Because it was shared it lives beyond them, will live beyond us. I love this dance more than any other dance form. Please don't turn out anyone seeking knowledge and skill because of where they are from.

+Sexy DeathEater yes, I still think Shakira is the queen of belly dancing, none of this girls match her, maybe they got the right original steps, but shakira takes it to another level, her Technic is amazing and not amazing like for a nonprofessional like she is but amazing like really amazing, her moves are stronger but without losing class or looking tacky, plus she has a killer body than all of the dancers i've seen so far.

No offense but Shakira's moves are tame, they are nothing in comparison to this lovely lady and other dancers. Plus, you gotta have a tummy/pudge so you can preform a lot of the moves correctly and perfectly.

lol. well, she was in her mid 30's when this was filmed at least. YES it takes a lot of skill to learn. Her stomach is almost flat, you see her muscles even. Belly dance is a dance that celebrates femininity and the beauty of being a woman. WOMEN like really thin women, men like women that look like women. The media has messed up our idea of healthy body weight. Pro dancers like Jillina train like crazy, she is basically an athlete and I guarantee very healthy, not at all 'over weight'

Hi Isabella...I'm feel so humbled hearing from you! You know you have many videos on KZbin that you're like a celebrity! But yes, I'm no expert on bellydance or as a matter of fact any cultural dancing. But am a student of martial arts and vintage Japanese weaponry, the samurai sword in particular. A lifetime of perfecting this ancient fighting form must not only be proficient in its' use but must be studied culturally, and how it came to being. It is said that the samurai's soul is contained in his sword, meaning his devotion to his art is unquestioned.
