I just found this series, a terrific project and each stage from the first drawing to, modelling to mocking up the build. Quite inspiring and great to put so much effort into sharing this via you tube! Keep it up!

A very interesting project, building your own Bell Tank body panels is unique and far more labor intensive than converting a war surplus tank.

True. Real tanks are still out there but seriously expensive. Pointy nosed (supersonic I assume) later ones are cheaper but not allowed by VHRA as too modern a shape.

I thought you might like to know that those are called Bendix duo-servo brakes. Because the adjuster between the shoes floats and is not attached to the backing plate the leading shoe pushes on the trailing shoe and energizes it, giving the brake a lot of stopping power despite having no servo.later it was still used with power brakes. It was eventually used in all US cars and the Volvo 544. Nascar used it for years after disc brakes were otherwise universal .

I know brake shoes self-energise but I did not know that having a floating adjuster makes it better again. Thanks for the information. I cut my teeth on air cooled VW's which were also low cost people's cars but it has been very interesting to see how Ford did it in a completely different way in terms of getting the maximum out of the least amount of parts, metal and assembly steps.
