Thank you so much for explaining the difference between the brackets!!! I was tearing my hair out because every other video and my written instructions from Hunter Douglas ONLY referred to the most current bracket. You are the only one who addressed all three iterations.

I had the earliest bracket and had several people look at it and not figure how to take the Silhouette off the bracket. Needed to get it off for window replacement. Halfway through this video,, had the answer, went to blind and bingo! Thank you!

Thank you I even went to a Hunter Douglas store and they couldn`t tell me how to remove the shades, You saved me ,my mind and the shade. The shades were in the house when I bought it 10 years ago.

Thank you! For those with type 1, know that it may be very difficult to get the tabs to release. try occasionally pulling out while rotating the trailing (rear) edge down and the front edge slightly up. The tabs CAN stick and it takes a near superhuman amount of push on the screwdriver to get the tab to release. Let's hope HD never goes back to type 1.

The video alerted us to the tabs on the brackets that can be pried open with a flat blade screwdriver. Ours are the Pirouette and are huge, 87 inches wide held by 4 of these brackets with the tabs out of view. Luckily we were able to get it down without it falling on our heads :) We're actually in Central Jersey like you. Ours need to be repaired but we're probably too far from your store, 40 miles from Belmar.

First gen: don’t necessarily need to twist just push the tab hard and pull shade out. Thanks so much for the help!

Can someone explain to me in details why or how does the push (I get this), but the twist (I don't get this) helps in removing the blinds? I actually did this and it works, cleaned it, and installed it back. But I am so curious how the mechanics work?! Mine is the old V1 (1st) version, and I've been looking at the shape carefully and many times but I can't for the life of me figure out how the twist helps considering the shape, part, and everything 😭

You don't talk about spacers that are available for the old brackets but don't seem to be available for the new. I have not seen any parts that allow for deeper sills with the new brackets, have you?
