Very nice rebuild and paint. Lots of memories, I've used the 34", 46", 54", and 64". Only the 64" is still in the shop. We made parts for the External Tank on the Space Shuttle program back in the 80's using a tracer attachment on the 46", later switched to a G&L 72" CNC.

I wish my bullard looked like that. Only advantage mine has is it has a horizontal ram and a turret. Any chance you have a spare manual for fixing it up. Thing has seen better days. It only has speeds(7,8,10,13,34,46,48) and a blown spindle bearing... and it leaks from every seal... Still pushes out parts like a champ, but I am weary that her days are limited.

The electric motors they used at the time were painfully/ obnoxiously lloud. I was able, with a ton of effort to remote it. Also they have motors today that are probably a 1/4 of the decibels. My first was a early 1900s kick Bullard than spiral drive.Cutmaster, Dynatrol were next 72" on the dynatrol. Beautiful piece of equipment. Today parts & service are tough. Especially the Dynatrol. All fluid drive. If you can get rid off the 50- 60 relays & such " modernise you will love. A true work horse of the industry. Without Bullard & Bpt machines, WW2 would of been a lot tougher. Of course jig bores, scrappers , broaching machine were no less important. Great machines!!!

Yes Russia has a lot of these machines circa 1945. They were never taken care of. We bought one out of storage from Pratt & Whitney 1991. It was a late 1958 serial number. Beautiful machine. Change the motors, they a far less noisy.

That mother fucker will rip 0.5in 12.5mm off like it was a skim cut. I literally have a 1in 25.4mm radius form tool that makes easy work on castings. My 54 bullard is in shit shape compared to this one.
