Hey B. I have a 16 year old. His season is starting soon. Should he be working out during the season?
@Shanee47102 ай бұрын
Lifting weights is fine, just don't do plyometrics or too much jumping during the season or he will get fatigued
@Beloti442 ай бұрын
Low-Medium intensity workouts focused more on controlled strength, mobility and flexibility is ideal in-season due to the intensity, demand, and limited recovery time.
@Beloti442 ай бұрын
Plyometrics are fine, they should just be limited. Low level plyos like jumping rope are actually extremely beneficial. Now if you’re referring to more intense plyos like max effort box jumps, or weighted depth jumps, the moments of those are far and few in-season. You should have high intensity training MOMENTS over longer breaks throughout the season depending on the intensity of your team’s training.

If you’re working on your bounce is it normal at the beginning for your bounce to decrease? And how many months till you start seeing gains?
@Beloti442 ай бұрын
The “decrease” is usually due to muscular fatigue if you’re training hard. I don’t have an exact timetable to give you, but progress is constantly made results are more noticeable as time goes on but especially after your body recovers from the wear & tear of the workouts. The time frame & results are determined by your training intensity & focus.

@ thank you for your reply. Really helpful And also I’m hopeful that I’ll see gains soon, keeping the faith and working hard And also how do I manage or avoid jumpers knee?
