Beloved Crossing Guard and CHA Resident Bench Dedication

On July 18, 2024, The Cambridge Housing Authority invited community members and loved ones to celebrate the life of Mac McLaren with remarks and a bench dedication on Cambridge Street in his honor. McLaren passed away a year ago to the date on July 18, 2023. McLaren was a beloved softball coach in the city, crossing guard at Cambridge/Berkshire Streets for over two decades, and de facto resident leader throughout his residency at CHA's Millers River Apartments in East Cambridge.
