That’s kinda what I was thinking. I’ve never been in the military, but a relative once gave us a tour of the aircraft carrier he was assigned to, including his sleeping quarters. I’m trying to remember if there were only two, or perhaps three bunks and I don’t remember a (relatively) private bathroom. And he was an officer and pilot.

Generally it's 2 bunks for officers with two large lockers and a sink, and the important people get a room to them selves, crew is Generally is large rooms with bunk beds in a triple coffin setup (storage is opening up your bed) you get an additional small locker located somewhat nearby. I'd go stir crazy living like that. My dad was in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, and I got sea sick almost every time I was on one of his ships. Didn't matter the size, time of day, or weather, as soon as I went below deck, I puked. One time, when I was 19, he told his shipmates I was hungover because he thought it would make me feel less embarrassed. 🤣

My son worked as a performer on a cruise ship for 10 months. I never saw what his room looked like. Thanks for the tour!

Spacious compared to the 4-man stateroom I had aboard a Navy frigate (and we had to walk down the passageway to use the head - plus we were typically on 'water hours' which meant you usually only got to shower once every three days). Fun times!

Wow must have been so hard to live in a stateroom sir, I only had 200 other people in my room

@@kylec632 Fair enough - my point being that what constitutes "cramped" quarters is entirely relative.

Only if I got a solo room and it paid well. There are levels to jobs on a ship. The low-end workers are slaves from the Philippines. If your a entertainer or a coordinator it's okay. If you wash dishes or clean you'll probably owe money when you term is up.

That's a STAFF crewcabin. There are Crewmembers (lower rank) that can fit 4 people or 2 different cabinss share one common bathroom. And there are Officers and Senior Officers cabins that are huge. Of course it differs by cruise liners and ship makers

This guy is really promoting slave like conditions living arrangements provided by massively rich corporations as a good cute job? This is peak capitalism.

he’s not really promoting it. he’s just showing it. he can’t openly criticize the companies he works for but he often gives the vibes of “this shit is wack” if you watch more videos.
