Belt Sander Grinder DIY. I made it Using Only Simple Tools.

Hello everyone🙌.
I built this belt sander using a simple power tool and junk I found in the workshop. I'm sure you can do the same, or even better!
Work process:
To make a drive roller without using a lathe, I took plywood and a jigsaw.
The plywood is strong enough and is perfect as a drive roller.
I cut the circles of the desired diameter with a jigsaw and glued them together with wood glue. For greater reliability, I pulled these circles with two long self-tapping screws.
Then I fixed this workpiece on the motor shaft and using an angle grinder and a chisel, gave a round shape to my workpiece.
I made the driven roller using several bearings and a bolt.
I made the frame of the grinder from a sheet of iron 6 mm thick.
I showed the whole process in the video, I think you will like it!

Great job! This is a project I have been wanting to do for some time now. I just picked up a second bench grinder for the project. I've been waiting for a second hand one with the right Hp to come up for sale. I've ordered the steel and hopefully can start on it in a few days. This may seem silly, but I really like that you put feet on the stand. I never thought of that. It's a good way to dampen vibration too. Thanks for the idea

Looks very useful !! A question... from the motor rotation speed in your first test, and your motor pulley diameter, I expected a very high sanding belt speed. But belt travel in use appears to be a moderate speed. Am I seeing wrong or did you modify electrical to lower rotation speed ?

No, I did not change the electrics of this motor. Its rotation speed is 1370 rpm, which is pretty low. Therefore, I had to make a pulley of an impressive size so that the speed of the tape would be about 20 m / s. (which is ideal for wood processing)

Великолепно. Браво мастеру. У токаря и дурак сделает, а вот вручную это нужно постараться. Как так биений нет? Под 1250 ленту надо переделать его для большей производительности.
