Ive never told my friends when my birthday is, of course I invited them over when we were little but I doubt they’d remember the exact day and I don’t expect them to. Its a little saddening to think that birthdays to me are now just another day out of 365, no gifts, no parties, just me living my life like I would any other day. But in a way its taught me many lessons. I don’t rely on others to make me happy, I make myself happy. I don’t expect gifts, which means I can give without expecting something in return, and I believe that’s an important human quality. It’s independency, in my opinion.
