Tbh, the integra we saw last year might just be like the base integra of the 90’s: the boring forgotten child of the integra lineup that no one cares about. This is more in line to the integra we remember, and that’s probably because the integra we remember is the type r/type s

7:53 That has some soul! It would be cool to see a refresh with split headlights. It doesn’t necessarily need to have round ones but I think it would give that front end quite a unique look. Just about everyone is doing the long strip for the DRLs and indicators but a little break in that would give it a little of that old school 4-eyes glare (and flair - as some cool 80s design vibes are making a welcome return; e.g. pixels that recall the dot matrix patterns that were the norm in electronics back then) maybe even akin to the subtle menacing face of the Buick GNX. I’d love to see your take on what I’m thinking about. Acura has my attention with this car and I really want to fall in love with the brand again. My first car was an ‘86 Integra (still have pics of me with it)… and I had a 2000 3.2 TL, an AP1 S2000 and two AP2 S2000s (which that shifter reminds me of). Somebody at Acura is listening and I’m just so grateful that in a society that’s pushing crossovers and SUVs, manufacturers are still putting out cars that have soul. Please keep at least one ICE car for as longer as you can. Honestly, you can go the Ford route and just give enthusiasts this car and *fingers crossed* a coupe version and just discontinue all of the other ICE. We will never see every vehicle as an EV in our lifetime and like you mentioned, it’s strange to see some manufacturers seemingly solely focused on this idea of a 100% EV lineup. We need to have a variety of fuel & power options because if something catastrophic happens that could affect one source of energy, we don’t want to be sitting ducks with limited options to move forward. I can definitely see that car sharing the garage with my 3rd gen Audi TTS. If someone at Acura reads this (which I believe is happening), keep up the good work and thank you. This is more than just new bumpers and wheels, it has those sexy fender flares and other details that truly call my name. This is my new car! I've been saving up so I can go in with 25 to $30k down so no matter what I chose I'll have enough equity to make financing the difference a no brainer. If they don't get super greedy with this Type S and sell them for 47 - 48 and don't mark it up much if at all, then for sure, 100% this will be my new whip in December of this year. This is exactly what I have been looking for, a Honda 2.0-liter V tech with luxury and modern technology, the HUD and ELS system alone got my attention and everything else is just a bonus, the wider, longer lower body looks incredible, I can't wait to take delivery of my white Type S with Orchid interior, this winter and I'm hoping things go smoother than with the Type r. My local Acura dealer assures me in the past releases of other Type S vehicles they have not marked them up, and availability of these should be much greater than the Type R so hoping Acura handles this differently than Honda did.

With people buying the Integra over the Si due to markups on the latter, at this point I’d get the Type S over the Type R if the no-markup-with-Acura thing continues here. If anything it may be the only reason it will ever even do well imo. Apparently AWD wasn’t added to the Type S because it would steal sales from the TLX. And people in other videos are unnecessarily toxic about the Type S ever being offered with an auto option. I saw someone say that anyone who even asked for an auto Integra Type S should buy a used Chevy spark because even offering an auto alongside a manual would make it “not be with it’s historical lineage” or something.

I think I prefer the Type R to the Type S looks wise but, living in a state that gets snow, heated seats and (probably) a quieter cabin are huge selling points. The Type R just seems to be way too track focused for daily driving in any state that has sub 20 degree temps and rough roads every spring.

Manus wouldn't make Type S's if they didn't make base models, which the original Integra ALWAYS had, a bit silly to continue trashing the base model when it always existed before. The Integra wasn't introduced as the Type R, it was a special model.

Watchign this made me finally realise what I don't like about this car. I don't like the shape of the intakes on the front. Looks like a FK8 to me, albeit functional. Just too "boy racer" by design. I prefer the subtle understatedness of the Type R's front fascia to this. Otherwise, the car is fine.

I honestly hate when they have those huge gloss-black diffusers. Just come up with something sleeker, and smoother, and use some carbon fiber. Stop with the giant half-bumper, gloss-black, easily scratch-able rear diffusers.

This reminds me of the new Impreza. They released an ugly, soulless version first, then they knocked it out of the park with the racing version. That said, you're right about the tablet on the dash. These makers need to look at what Mazda is doing with low-profile screens set far back on the dash so the driver doesn't have to remove her eyes from the road to look at it or operate it.

@@ShaiyanHossain Mazda doesn't have a trackpad. I think you might be thinking of some other system. Mazda's rotary dial input device is the correct solution to the vehicle screen input problem. It is the only input type, including touchscreen and touchpad, that gives 100% button press accuracy every single time.
