It's pretty poetic when there are companies like Mercedes Benz or BMW who have you pay six figures for their flagship models. They would tell you that having a screen is cheaper than using physical buttons and as a result, it makes things more clean a luxurious. The thing about that statement is that while it may be true that physical buttons and dials are more expensive to produce for a car interior than screens, the knowledge of knowing that companies like Mercedes Benz and BMW have essentially cheaped out by incorporating almost every single function in an automotive interior into one massive screen(s). Here we have Bugatti with the new Tourbillion and this absolutely gorgeous interior that will stand the test of time 50+ years from now. To put it bluntly, people are buying expensive cars, yet said interiors are cheap in the sense that these massive screens will date the interior after six months to a year has gone by along with the fact that the screens themselves are LITERALLY CHEAPER than having physical buttons, dials, and switches. A new fully loaded Mercedes-Maybach S680 is somehow both expensive AND cheap when you consider it's price being at around $234,000 US fully loaded, yet at the same time, it's cheap because of the giant screen being the cheaper way to go than having any buttons.

@@caidee I'm well aware of that. But how often are some of these features actually being used? The thing is, Tourbillon is aimed for Concourses. BMW or Merc flagships are just designed for CEOs and not necessarily car enthusiasts. Remember, the only BMWs you will find at a concourse are the rare beauties like the batmobil, 507, z8, E24, M1. And similarly for Merc: the SL300, SLR, Merc-Maclaren, etc. which the typical BMW/ Merc customers are not even aware of! Basically, customers define the car trends, rather than the carmakers, unfortunately. If the ugly large-screened cars were repulsed by the targeted customers, these wouldn't sell. In such a case, the manufacturers would go back to the analogs. This is also why sedans and wagons are being replaced by SUVs, and a manual transmission is phasing out -- the majority of customers are simply not petrolheads (or EV head, either way, no passion for cars).

When I watched the live stream, when I first saw the car, I thought, "well dang, it's just a facelifted Chiron". I couldn't have been more wrong. It definitely carries over some of the Chiron and Veyron design elements/DNA, but the more I stare at this car, the more it looks different than those two. It evolves each time you look at it; almost like it's never the same every time you glance at a new angle. It's truly a piece of art. And the interior - masterpiece. I'd like to see more mainstream luxury brands move this direction once AR begins to propagate more into society. Mate Rimac was correct (or maybe it was someone else on the live stream...) when he said that nothing ages a car faster than screens.

"Nothing dates a car, faster than its screen technology" Couldn't agree more. How I loved the dial cluster! It is industrial and organic at the same time. Like all Bugattis, I feel a bit of Steampunk as well. I could pay some amount to make my Formentor's screen mechanical. I know this car is practically out of reach for many of us but, such machines (not a product at this level) show the intention of the car-makers. My takeout is as follows, commute and transportation will be dealt with ugly autonomous boxes with many screens and "friendly" designs, however, there will be true cars available for people who like to drive. I don't know at which point humans will not be allowed to drive (I am a robotics engineer working with autonomous vehicles), but until then I expect more and more interesting cars at all price-points.

Technically flawless, aesthetically both outside and inside it looks like a restyle of the old Chiron (excluding the elongated nose)

What I love on the Tourbillon is the thing that you can drive it with only CE or only EV drivetrain ❣️👌🏼 As EV you have 800 HP or as CE 1000 HP...or combined 1800 😁 So cool 👍🏼

Mate Rimac did great by not making a totally electric Bugatti. He understands heritage of the Bugatti brand. Well done, Rimac/Bugatti

It has a screen, it is hidden away and its used primarily for backup camera (because of regulations). And yes, that long vertical red line above engine is the 3rd break light

To me, it looks like a best of remix ( chiron,la voiture noir/p1, huayra inspired instrument cluster)....but what makes this car really special, is the engine. One of a kind and there will never be another v16

After all, Pagani's design philosophy of integrating exposed mechanical components within their modern vehicles has garnered mixed reactions. While some may find this approach unconventional, it undeniably results in a unique and visually striking aesthetic. Any way, congratulations to Bugatti on their recent release. The car transcends mere aesthetics, approaching a state of near perfection👏🏻👏🏻

You should take a look at the Grand Seiko Kodo (or really any skeleton watch movement) and then take a look at those gauges again. You'll see how reminiscent of a watch those gauges are down to the gears and jewels in the gauge cluster itself. I love it

The other manufacturer that did that style of wheel was a French firm called Citroen. The cost is 3.8 million euros before taxes. All of the are sold already.the rear light is from La vatoir noir, the car is the same width. Only 27 m longer. And they have kept the weight down to the same as the Chiron

This design draws from the 2015 Bugatti Atlantic - that is an even better design - if you can imagine that! You should do a video on that "secret" 2015 project. I think it would be greatly appreciated by your viewers.

While iconic, the Chiron's design never looked "fast" to me. The Tourbillion feels like the desiners took the recognizable elements of the Chiron and reshaped them into something that looks as fast as it drives. Everything looks lower, wider, and more aggressive without looking overdone. I haven't seen anyone mention this, but the shape of the nose and hood coming off of the horseshoe grill is more distinct than previous models and evokes the hood shape of the classic Bugattis well.

Bugatti did it again!😎👌 Another Century, another timeless Design! A nice evolution from the Chiron with an even more emotional engine!🥰😍 A n/a V16 engine, revving to 9000 RPM and having 1000hp with a 1 meter long crankshaft! That's something special! Also I love the Design solution for dashboard and steering wheel! What a car!!!👌
