That's because back then, cartoons were made to be consumed by a wider audience such as teenagers and even adults.. So the writing had to be advance enough for them to enjoy and appreciate the story as well.. Then for the kids being us back in 2005, they appealed to us by giving us flashy visuals and cool transformations. Heck even my elder brother who was 17 at the time actually enjoyed the show. I'm 30, I grew up when this show was at its prime but I never got into it. I had my own shows and none of my friends were watching this. This has to be one of the best kid show stories I've seen in a while. Most kids shows don't even have an origin point to explain, it just happens and lore will be sprinkled throughout some episodes.
