Fans seem to have mixed opinions on him, but I personally think it's cool. Also, if you're wondering why Big Chill's redesign is the way it is, it's bacuse Big Chill is based on the legend of the Mothman, a famous Cryptid who's said to appear in areas covered in a freezing fog moments before big incidents to kind of warn people about them. His redesign is meant to resemble the Mothman even more, with a more muscular and hunched appearance.

the easiest answer is that was just Derrick J. Wyatt's art style, he always had these very big and expressive shapes with his characters. Some of his most notable design work was Teen Titans, Transformers Animated, and Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. Sadly, this was one of the last shows he worked on before his passing, so we can only learn so much about his mindset by looking back.

Okay now that we've completed a season, I wanted to draw a slight issue into the Nemtrix now that the secret gloves are off. As the gimmick is working on predators for specific aliens, that limits us to a small selection of aliens they use to make these fights interesting. Note how Armadrillo, Stinkfly and Heatblast were used in both two parters against the same predators, and now we know who they’re predators to these fights will sadly grow repetitive.

They should give us more fights like Spidermonkey vs Crabdozer from the first episode. So an alien that is not the prey of that exact Nemetrix transformation, but still struggles against him.

I think having each alien of the same archetype going to different VAs is the best choice - which is what OS did.

The reason a lot of aliens have clothes now is because it was told that the earlier Omnitrix and Ultimatrix had a bug which made all the aliens naked. Hence almost every alien has clothes now in some fashion. Rath is still naked, and that will be touched later.

That seems fair about your opinion towards Big Chill's design. And although I certainly grew to like him, I hope you will like the evil Brainstorm. I also think there are not many moments in Omniverse when Ben says the name of the form he takes like how he did in Ultimate Alien and Alien Force. I also think that after rewatching this, this episode showed the Omnitrix the most sentience and some attitude. Like how it responded when Ben selected Heatblast even though he didn't want it, constantly wanting Humungousaur, surprising him by giving him what he has been asking for, and basically told him to not push it by giving him Grey Matter instead of Waybig. Could be wrong though. I only recently discovered the theory of the Omnitrix being sentient, and I approve it.

Season One of the finale of Omniverse is not my favourite and could’ve done better but it does get better once seasons past. Nice to Omniverse brought back Phil from the OS. He actually turn into Humungousaur less before this episode and the writers forgot how to make him tall. “Khyber Season” “Rath Season” is based around Looney Tunes reference. Not a fan of Big Chill design.

I love the redesign for Phil. It's crazy how long it took the series to bring him back, considering we've gone to the Null Void a couple of times in the UAF era. Yeah, Humungousaur's new design is not exactly my favorite, especially since they kinda forgot his size changing ability. Also, the same thing with Big Chill, I just prefer the slimmer design. All time favorite scene is the Khyber/Rath hunting season smack down

What’s more realistic is that, whatever scenario they would previously have Humungousaur grow for, they would instead write for Ultimate Humungousaur or Way Big to boost marketability. They still knew he could grow but instead used the ultimate form as the new trump card since they’re forced to market it now. For Omniverse, you could make a similar argument. Although there is a real possibility that the character descriptions were updated and Humungousaur’s growth was officially omitted altogether by then.

Khyber is built diferent as a hunter, he's got a full Appoplexian Skeleton & Vulpimancer hide. If you look closely, you can see the helmet of Sentient Ultimate Humongousaur which means Khyber is skilled enough to hunt Ultimate Aliens in addition to Alien Predators. Rath still better than Humongousaur

The big chill redesign was meant to evoke the look of the famous appalachian cryptid Mothman Mothman according to local legend is often said to be of alien origin and he was the inspiration behind Big chill, thing is, big chill doesn't look at lot like how mothman looks according to eye witness accounts so in omniverse they redesigned him to look bulkier with a low slung head which is closer to the real discriptions given by people who claim to have seen Mothman

I feel like this whole thing about changing some aliens way more than others were situations were they could find SOMETHING to change. Take Wildmut, how can you even change that? The only thing about him is not having eyes, but it's other senses being great, even it's Ultimate wasn't THAT BIG of a change, since there is not much to do with it, now Big Chill? It's original design seemed to me like an "really fragile" being, something that would go down with a single good punch, but this really buff moth? Who would want to pick a fight with that? If Ben was evil and used this Big Chill, i would just accepy my death at that point. Also, they seem to have tried to not mess with "fan-favorites" like Humongsaur and Rath, since that would be seen pretty badly by the community. Of course, i am not saying that they decided to "not change" ALL the fan-favorites, but at least for THAT ONE, whose name i won't say, they tried to give a "reason" for it to change, and it does make sense. This Big Chill also makes me actually see it as a "stronger Big Chill", after all, if it's in the omnitrix, it has to be THE BEST of the species, and it always seemed weird to me how strong some aliens were, withoud even looking like it. Swampfire, back in Alien Force, seemed to me like a alien that wouldn't be really fisically strong, but that thing was REALLY strong, but now THIS Big Chill seems like it would be pretty strong fisically, which could help, since it's powers would be great combined with super strenght. I don't LOVE it's new design, but i really don't hate it, it's just my actual nightmare fuel from Ben 10 now 😅

For an example, Spider Monkey, i do prefer him in Omniverse, by far. Others, like Humongsaur, Wildmut, and others that changed almost nothing, are just the original aliens, but extra, so if i had to buy a toy, why would i buy the OG Wildmut, if i can buy the one from Omniverse? You know? On the other hand, and i am hoping he doesn't read this comment, since i will spoil it now... Chromastone's redesign is not my favorite, i do think that it's the redesign that i like the least, but he still my favorite alien from Alien Force, so i WOULD buy it. To me, the whole problem about "creating new aliens/redesigning them just to sell toys is kinda useless to argue about, since it doesn't matter HOW MUCH they change, and how many aliens they create, toys WILL come, it's just how it works, there are toys of EVERYTHING. I am quite the Marvel fan, and i liked to buy marvel toys too, but...how many Iron Man and Spider Man toys are there? If it's different, who cares? The imagination of a kid takes place, and even if the changes are minimal, it's still fun, so who cares if they change just a little or if they change A LOT, right?

If you were a fan back then, then you will probably already buy a toy of an alien then. Wildmutt is an alien that did change only slightly in design, but there are some aliens that look completely different in every series, like Diamondhead. So let's say you had a Diamondhead's toy in original series. Then, if you considered his redesign in Alien Force/Ultimate Alien better, then you will buy his toy again. And if you liked his design in "Omniverse" better then you will buy it for the third time. Especially if he's your favourite alien. And every alien is someone's favourite, like - one of my favourite aliens is EyeGuy, even if he is not the most popular, and I would buy both of his toys. About Chromastone - yeah, for me his redesign and Big Chill's redesigns are the worst in Omniverse (I'm talking about Chromastone's second design from "Omniverse" - not the one from "Trouble Helix" as it looks exactly the same as the one from Alien Force/Ultimate Alien) Also trivia: the reason (spoilers) that Chromastone appeared so rarely in "Omniverse" (and - to a lesser degree - in "Ultimate Alien") was because appearently his toys selled poorly, so the creators of the show thought the fans do not like Chromastone. Which for me is weird, like, why would one not like Chromastone? I think he's one of the coolest aliens in Ben 10, both when it comes to his design (the first one) and his abilities.

If a kid want, he will ask for the exact same toy multiple times just to use in his own way, take Echo Echo, i only had one, the OG one, but if i COULD, i would've wanted multiple OG Echo Echo to use when i was playing with them. For a kid that actually just wants to have fun with his imagination, buying Wildmut OR Wildmut with a collar or whatever is one thing, but buying both means double the happiness while playing, so why not? Creating redesigned aliens just to sell the toys is ALWAYS seen as a crime in every single community, but to a kid that is just playing, that kid WILL want those toys. For the creators, redesigning aliens to sell them as toys works a lot, since the kids will be happy, and they will receive lots of money, everybody wins either way, it doesn't matter if it's a Big Chill case, were it changed a lot, or a Wildmut case, were it hardly changed, you know? And again, they redesigned the designs, and people complain if it's too simple, as well as if it changes a lot, which means things can't change, BUT if they also use the same, people will call them lazy to change the whole artstyle, and the aliens were still the exact same, so at that point, WHAT DOES THE COMMUNITY WANT???

I know the season arc villain but he should at least have respect for his villains after all Khyber may not be the strongest Villain unlike Aggregor but still he told Ben Facts. After 9 Mis transformations he finally gets Humungousaur and is now Voiced By John DiMaggio and not Dee because he stated voicing Humungousaur hurts his throat so much so that’s why John replaced Dee I wish that never happened but oh well. Funny how Ben nearly turned into every alien from last episode except Rath , Humungousaur , Grey Matter & Big Chill. Also welcome back Phil I will be honest I wish they never brought him back. Malware’s new design you will find out very shortly on how he became what he is now in the present. It's also funny Ben mentions Sunder now he is simply a downgrade villain.

I hate the redesigns of Bigchill (they took the big literally) or Humungousaur. They made him WAY smaller, took away his growing ability, and gave him a kinda dumb sash and underwear for no reason.
