Ben 10 Toys That Weren't Watches

Came up with this idea after making the first Ben 10 video, but didn’t actually start working on it till way later. Probably my last Ben 10 video if I can’t think of anything else to talk about. Don't want to milk the franchise like Cartoon Network did.

Dude the Ben 10 action figures were the best. It was also pointless to get most of the Omnitrix toys without getting the figures because the figures came with "holograms" to use in the Omnitrix.

The basic figures always had some kind of interesting way to entice you to get them at least. The first wave had those holographic disk cards where you'd see Ben transform into the alien, the next wave had those special codes you'd use in the alien fusion lab on the official website for the toys, (Let's be real, we all just searched up the rest of the codes online to see the other fusions) probably what inspired the alien fusion chamber toy (along with the actual episodes with alien fusions). And then by Alien Force/Ultimate Alien they packed in those holograms for the main Omnitrix toys to get you wanting more aliens to use. I remember really wanting the Rust Bucket and Chimerman Hammer (Vilgax's ship) sets but then realized the scale of the figures to Vilgax's ship was off, tho at least the Rust Bucket lab set was fun to mess with. I'd kill for a D-Arts or SH Figuarts of Alien Force Ben, maybe with alternate hands for the Ultimatrix and Alien Force Omnitrixes. The reboot at least has better basic figures then the original lineups, much more articulated and detailed, about on the level of a Marvel Legends figure I'd say, the scale is also more consistent so there's no tiny Humongousaur or oversized Upchuck. Kinda wish I got that DNA Hero Heatblast tho, I'm a sucker for toys who just have a ton of gimmicks like light up or see thru oozing insides like that. It's like having a Buzz Lightyear.

Man, I actually loved the Ben 10 action figures. I remember sitting on the floor in my room bashing them together to make them fight, trying to do the alien voices from the show, and even running them over with the giant toy Kevin's car. My parents definetly thought I was insane, but I was having a blast. The Omnitrix toys were fun for running around the house or watching the show and finding the alien on it, but there are long lasting memories of those figures I can't forget. Hell, I even got a Graymatter figure for Christmas, and I'm an adult now. Those translucent Heatblast and Diamondhead figures were so cool, though I never actually owned the Diamondhead one.

@Amazing Spiderman Fan 2002 no the ultimatrix in omniverse got recalibrated starting from a base of a complete omnitrix with red. It looks different. The original ultimatrix was destroyed at the end of ultimate alien.

As a kid, I used to prefer having the alien figures than the omnitrix because they looked cool and I wasn't into roleplaying. Coming up with my own scenarios and recording them like a SuperMarioLogan skit was also one of my favorite memories.

As a former (debatable) child I can say the action figures were quite a lot of fun. A pretty common online use was making a home movie of yourself wearing the omnitrix then cut to footage of the toy as you had transformed into that alien, pretty cool and fun if you ask me. And beyond the home movie thing it was also just fun to play with the alien characters, the human characters not so much though I will admit.

It probably would've ended with Swampfire bound in hair ties or some shit as the horses put him on trial and threaten to shank him with their horns. Too bad neither of us were into the original Ben 10 when it was airing/literally chose to watch the reboot as the final wave of toys are making their way out of stores/overall get into the franchise when playing with toys is dead for both of us and toys for display is, while more acceptable, still somewhat frowned upon.

That swampfire action figure bit at the beginning got me good, I owned a lot of those toys as a kid (I remember liking the alien creation station a lot actually, just to see the creations pop out since I didn't mix very often) and I would play this game with my little sister where ben 10 goes to the world of one of her girl toys. Kinda cringe in retrospect, but it was fun!

I loved the alien chamber, it had a blue watch type thing that was like a portable lab thing. But it was basically like an omnitrix that let me customise my aliens. It isnt as cool now, but I enjoyed it when I was younger.

I actually always wanted to be Kevin. That’s coming from a girl. It’s just every time there was a name the could start with a K or a C it was always a C. Then Kevin happens and I was so happy there was a name that I knew started with a K. Since I first saw him I liked him I would run around this camp ground I spent the summer at reenacting Kevin Levin scenes. Mostly after Alien Force started because he had a main part. I would actually hang out in a garage and since I had zero mechanical skills I would always be cleaning the cars. Now days whenever my car gets in an accident I always yell, “My car!” I really turned into Kevin when I got older but I don’t regret it. My older brother was Ben to me sometimes we even made up our own Ben and Kevin fights we didn’t hurt each other except the time I was telling him about a fight he missed . I tried to re-enact it but I ended up flipping him. After that my little brother asked me to flip himI also told him no. He asked, “What if I act like Ben or the bad guys?” I told him if he did well and if it was for fun then I would. He was awful turns out he never saw a single episode. He would just run around and say, “I’m Ben I can turn into ten different aliens but only for ten minutes.” I told him Ben never said that a day in his life. So I never did flip my younger brother.

a transforming ben 10 figure (like that of the digivolving digimon or transformers) would have been really cool, though with things needing to be produced cheaply youd probably end up with a ben brick that turned into a barely posable alien another thing i feel they could have done was make versions of the watches (prolly the ultimatrix because its the biggest one) that transformed into the hand of an alien, like a swampfire/heatblast hand that made fire shooting sounds, or a diamond head spikey fist that made those kinda sounds, maybe even just a humongusaur fist

it has been a long time since i had ben 10 AF and UA (even Omniverse for a while) on the AF side, i had those toys with their mounts like swampfire with his dragon and humongosaur with his dino and even chromastone, i even had ultimate swampfire at some point. i even had that weird merge station. it was the good old times back then......
