I think Ben Affleck directing/writing for Batman and acting as Batman would’ve been another Oscar opportunity next to Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. I see him as the American Chris Nolan that’s my opinion has amazing movies Good Will Hunting, Argo, The Town I think if he had optimism and motivation he would’ve been pulling a Thanos saying “fine I’ll do it myself” and given us what could’ve been the best Batman movie ever made.

You have to remember that Affleck was also going through some personal things in his life too which I can imagine was part of the reason why he didn't want to be Batman anymore. Don't get me wrong, I think Matt Reeves did a great job with The Batman but it's still a shame that Affleck never got to make his Batman film. At least we will see him one more time in The Flash.

It really hurts my heart, regarding what was planned to be. I think the toxic Marvel fan base was intimidated by this all. Including Warner brothers, because of what the Marvel fanbase had to say on social media. That includes parents that were angry with how dark they claimed Zack Snyder's Vision was. Although it wasn't dark, but it was mostly just realistically toned. And didn't cater to children as much as a catered it to adults that actually grew up on DC Comics. Crazy thing is, I have no interest in anything that James Gunn has to offer regarding DC. I don't know what it is. I used to be a huge fan of his earlier work, but after Henry Cavill was booted from the DC Universe, I have lost 100% interest in anything he has to offer.

Marvel started in 2008, and had a particular "fAmiLy fRieNdLy" toned formula, packed with corny jokes and punchlines and dance offs.... compared to Snyder's non family friendly realistically toned universe, that actually take risks, and makes the majority audience viewer (who doesn't need to be spoon fed) think. Chris Terrio did a great job with the writing. Toxic MCU fans automatically compared the DCEU to the MCU. And claimed that DCEU should have used the same "fun" formula, claiming his films were rushed... They weren't rushed... people just hate what they don't understand. His movies came out years ago, and here you are, still clicking on DC Snyder related content. Lol That alone proves my point. Snyders DCEU are more than great films that will stand the test of time... they're controversial films that even haters can't stop clicking on. More than half the people claiming that Zack Snyder's DC movies are bad, actually keep watching them and continue to buy them once they hit home sales, because let's be honest Zack Snyder's extended versions of his movies are always better than whatever Warner Brothers decides to edit and put out If Snyder's DCEU was so bad, then his films wouldn't be trending globally multiple times. Zack Snyder's Justice League would have never gotten released.

Bruce was world weary, and felt as helpless during the Kryptonian attack as he did when his parents were murdered. Batman killing criminals (IN SELF DEFENSE) made sense considering the fact that he was unhinged and felt that the end of the world was coming.... especially after the speed force vision he saw during the Knightmare sequence. Batman has killed in most live action Batman films, including the Keaton movies. Batman also killed in his earlier comics.... so yeah... that means it HAS happened in Batman mythology. Just because his number 1 rule is to not kill doesn't mean he hasn't killed. At the end of the day he is still a vigilante. Gunn IS responsible for scrapping any current chance of Cavill playing Superman, while choosing to keep Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. He could have kept the Snyderverse intact... but chose to let it be.... right after Black Adam surprised the fans with Cavills return. And let's not forget Gunns nasty history of surrounding himself with twisted people, while being twisted himself

There is a difference between Batman killing indirectly and Batman gunning down a truck of goons, blowing it up, then smashing through it like a wrecking ball. Shooting a bunch of goons and flying away, or kicking an unconscious goon he just hung upside down into the other, knocking them both into a room with a live grenade, killing both in the process. And that’s all after having an eye-opener and stopping himself from killing Superman. Bonus - he also threatens to attack a man in front of his child in an alleyway. “Batman killed in other versions!” is not sufficient because the vast majority of Batman stories, the best and most beloved have had the rule as the staple of the character. And if you’re referring to the 1939 comic, Batman was still a new character and they were still figuring out what to do with him, that’s not uncommon with new characters. Bill Finger preferred a Batman who didn’t kill and regretted Batman ever killing in the first place. The Burton films were more interested in the aesthetic of Batman and Gotham than accuracy. And for some reason Snyder thinks Batman “kills all the time” in The Dark Knight Returns - he doesn’t. I’m not convinced he actually read it, more like he flipped through the artwork and said “Yeah…I kinda get it, let’s film”. That is why his Batman sucks so hard. Be glad a full-length movie is never going to happen.
