Ninjago and Ben 10 do have a lot in common. Both are meant to sell toys but are far from just cheap toy commercials and there’s a lot of deep character moments. Hell, the main character in both is a green themed, green eyed chosen one who acted like a brat as a kid as a cover for their trauma, has an 1000 year old mentor, was originally voiced by a middle aged woman before being replaced by a middle aged guy after the timeskip, defeated the embodiment of evil and while they never asked to be the savior of their world, continue to do so anyway.

And what they did with Esther and especially Julie was really terrible. Ben should have ended up with Julie. I mean why waste 2 entire shows for her if you aren't gonna do that? Omniverse made almost every character better but Julie is one of the exceptions. They ruined her. There are some dumb villains in omniverse but overall it's one of the great shows I loved. Man it feels like forever since I last thought about it seriously and had fun. It's been a year of misery. Guess that's true adulthood

I skipped over Alien Force when it came out due to getting into my teenage "I'm too old for cartoons" phase but I remember being so shocked Kevin became a good guy. Like the same big mutant Kevin that tried to kill Ben several times, that Kevin ? But now I love him in that role. They do a great job making the transition seem natural and reminding you it was gradual and took alot of work.

@JabamiLain ok I just check it out. And I was surprised that it was unfinished with only 3 chapters since the year it was first published. I find it interesting how in that version, Cash & JT are Ben’s friends, as well Animo turning good, even though we always love him as a mad scientist who mutates animals. Sure I can tell that it would involve Kevin being convinced by the Tennysons to be part of their family, since he & Gwen become very close since Alien Force. Speaking of that, there is a remastered version that makes the series even better. Like Ben being told by Azmuth, that some of his old aliens from the original series were being placed in these crystals that Ben has to find. Julie becomes a part of the group, while fusing with Ship to form that battle suit. Cousin Lucy also joining the team, while working for Azmuth. Ben’s parents having more screen time, instead of being treated as one time characters, who have no important role with the story. Albeno, appearing too early, while having Rojo & Charmcaster by his side. Verdona becoming Gwen’s mentor, while getting to know her grandchildren. And the Forever Knights have a Queen, who’s just as bad as the Forever King, while also seeing Enoch again, who wants to overthrow their Queen.
