When he first mentioned it, Ben said he donates plasma, not whole blood. 🤓 I got curious about what the differences are and there are a few significant ones. First, it sounds like a larger gauge needle (maybe a cannula?) is used for collecting plasma since they put the other parts of your blood (mixed with saline) back into the same arm hole after spinning down the donation and siphoning off the plasma. Also, while blood donors don’t get paid and have to wait "at least 56 days" in between donations, plasma donors can make $50-$75 *per donation* and can donate twice in seven days as long as there’s at least two days in between sessions. (Well, rats... I just tried to paste "The More You Know" as a gif to reduce the smarty pants know it all vibe of my comment, but I guess gifs aren't allowed. Le sigh.)

I also went to the IFB cult church and there is significant trauma that comes with it. If people don’t work through that trauma it can be channeled in a lot of horrible ways - I could list all the people I’ve personally seen who’s lives are wrecked. I am gonna be honest. Their drug addiction is going to kick them in the butt and it going to come at them hard! Plus there is a 50/50 chance that they won’t listen to others such as their family and friends and be hardheaded to not get help from a rehabilitation center.

I am nearly the same age as Ben. I couldn’t imagine dating my older daughter’s friends. I would feel like a pervert. ,,,, how does not not know that it’s not okay ?
